About Tusa Liberator Sigma BCD, Black (BCJ-3200)

The Tusa Liberator Sigma Buoyancy Compensator BCJ-3200 is a Heavy Duty, Wrap-Around Jacket Style BC that utilizes Tusa's Advanced Weight Loading System and Ultimate Stabilizing Harness, which ensures Security-and-Stability. With its Two-Large, Zippered Pockets, you can Maximize Utility and Function. Tusa's Advanced Weight Loading System (AWLS) allows the diver to insert weights into the weight-cartridges and loading them easily into the front of the BC jacket. Additionally, with weight distribution to the shoulder area, the weighted-down feeling that is traditionally associated with weight belts is eliminated. Weight-Cartridges can accommodate from 8lbs (3.63kg) to 10lbs (4.54kg) of weight in each Cartridge and two Rear Trim Pockets can hold up to 4lbs (2kg) in each Non-Releasable-Pocket. The AWLS Weight Cartridges are easy to release in an emergency, but the safety lock makes sure that they do not release accidentally.

Tusa's Ultimate Stabilizing Harness (USH) completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit. The USH securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight. The BCD has an Adjustable Sternum Strap for Maximum Comfort. BCD is made from Durable 840-Denier Nylon with an Internal Urethane Laminated Air Cell. BCD has Torso-Adjustable Shoulder Straps that provide Excellent Comfort and Adjustable Waist Strap with Cummerbund provides precise Adjustment of Harness. All Straps are equipped with Squeeze-Style" Side-Release Buckles for Easy Donning and Doffing. Buoyancy is controlled by Tusa's patented O.P.E.V. Quick Inflate/Deflate System. Trimming Buoyancy is Easy with Dump/Overpressure Relief Valve. BCD provides 31lbs to 46lbs (14.3kg to 20.9kg) of Lift depending on the BCD Size. I just blown away when I received this bcd. Tusa
has really built a great bc for the money. I was really surprised to see they added the side pull out weight system Very impressed. The Liberator
bc looks and feels and functions just like the more expensive bc's out there. Looks and feels much like the Sherwood system. I wll be taking it out today for a test run and will write a operational review when I return, can't wait.

does not hold enough weight for diving in cold water with 7mm suit and hooded vest. I bought 2 bcs one for my daughter because she complained about weight belt hurting her hips and one for myself. I should have saved the money and bought a bc without the intergrated weights and just bought my daughter a shot filled weight belt

Comments about Tusa Liberator Sigma BCD, Black (BCJ-3200):

I was planning on buying this at my local shop but when I saw the price it was a no brainer. This is the most comfortable BCD I have ever worn, only the Mares prestige comes close. I knew when I bought it that it DOESN'T have a dump valve on the right shoulder, and I found out that there is no rear openning for the side pockets. KNOW THIS before hand because if it had them it would be a 5 star.

With that said, It's a great piece. I had no problems taking it on and off several times in the water, and the trim weight pockets are handy. I usually put my SPG in the rear of the side pocket but this one doesn't have that openning. It DOES come with a hose clip on the left side where the lower D-ring should be and it is in just the PERFECT spot. streamlined and clean.

The weight pocket system held 9#'s each and is positive latching. If you have to drop weights you will have to pull fairly HARD and they will pop right out. Some might say too hard, but These will never fall out on their own.

I have a Tusa Platina. This is essentially the same BCD. It has less D rings and I think one less dump valve, but it's still a good value.

This was a good value. I like the weight pockets although I saw some reviews that said they malfunctioned. I make sure I fasten them correctly and have never had a problem. Lots of D rings. Ample pockets. Fully adjustable. Comfortable. Easy to rinse out. The Velcro strap on the air2 could be a little lower. Very happy with it.

Comments about Tusa Liberator Sigma BCD, Black (BCJ-3200):

One of the best deals I've ever gotten on any equipment. Works perfectly and fits well. I'm 6'1" and 240lbs, and the XL is great. Two things that were confusing at first; adjusting the cumber bun, and configuring your weights. At first I thought it was too large, but then figured out to adjust the cumber bun, and everything worked out well from there. The other tricky part is changing the weights in the quick release pockets. If you already know exactly how much weight you want, then you're good to go. If you don't, then it's going to be a pain. Configuring my perfect buoyancy required changing weights in the water, and putting the weight pockets back in is an incredible task if you're floating around. Make sure you're weighted correctly before getting in, or be incredibly skilled. Otherwise, this BCD is absolutely perfect.
