About Tusa Full Foot Split Fins X-Pert Evolution

The TUSA X-Pert Evolution Full Foot Fins combine Propeller-Fin Technology, TUSA's Multi-Flex Blade System and Patented Angled Blade Design. The X-Pert Fin provides more Speed and Power with Less Effort and Fatigue than Traditional Paddle Blade Full-Foot Fins. The X-Pert Fin is a Thin, Lightweight Design Ideal for Snorkeling and Travel, yet it Generates Maximum Performance and Comfort with Minimum Strain on the Leg Muscles when using a Small Bent-Knee Kick with a Light Rhythm.

The TUSA X-Pert Fins Innovative Hydrofoil (Split Blade) and Hybrid Rib Design produce Greater Forward Motion (lift) both on the Surface and Underwater. As the Fin Moves through the Water its Two Wing-Shaped Surfaces Create Lift and Forward Propulsion like a Propeller. Any Water Traveling Over-the-Top of the Blade is Funneled Into-and-Out of the Split between the Blades. Efficiency is Increased while Drag and Effort is Reduced.

A Standard Flat Fin Inhibits Propulsion Solely by Fault of Design. An Angle between the Heel of the Foot and the Calf of the Leg remains when the Leg is Extended-to-Kick. This Angle causes approximately 10% of the Propulsion to be Lost. The 20? Angled Blade Design accommodates for this Anatomical Characteristic and Ensures Maximum Efficiency throughout the Kicking Cycle. The Fin is available in sizes X-Small, Small, Medium, Medium/Large, Large or X-Large, comes in Black or Blue colors and is covered by a 36 month limited warranty.

The Tusa Full Foot Split Fins X-Pert Evolution is commonly used for Recreation, SCUBA, Snorkeling, Travel and more. The Tusa Full Foot Split Fins X-Pert Evolution is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Advanced, Beginner, Casual/ Recreational among others. The Tusa Full Foot Split Fins X-Pert Evolution is popular because customers like the following qualities of the Tusa Full Foot Split Fins X-Pert Evolution: Comfortable, Efficient, Lightweight.

Understand what you are buying.

I have found this to be an excellent fin, but I think that people should understand what they are buying. There is only going to be so much give in the foot pocket (Nor would you want it). I have a Slightly wider than average size 12 foot and the XL(12-13) fits snugly but comfortably with a dive sock. In other words, just about perfect. If your foot is very far off of normal length to width dimensions then you should probably not get a full foot fin by mail order. Next, unless I am mistaken, ...

Two pairs split in the foot pouch

I bought these fins for my son as a present. Straight out of the box there was a small cut (or so I thought) in the top of the foot pocket on both fins. I returned them back to Leisurepro who switched them out form without question. I thought that someone had nicked them with a box cutter and the replacements looked fine. They sat on a shelf for a few months before we went on a warm water live aboard diving trip. First dive they showed the small splits that were in the original ones starting...

TUSA split Fins

By

Excellent buy! I can swim faster than the fishes now. SCUBA Steve ain't got nothing on me The closed heel gives so much more support for propelling you faster than the open heel.

They break quickly

By

from Wolfeboro, NH, US

My son wore these for one caribbean trip, and then for some snorkeling during last summer, and they broke. The rubber around the foot (the shoe area) just rips away from the harder plastic. Real bummer.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
RICHARD C  Wanted a split fin and this pair has been very good in current and has a good amount of thrust.
JULIEN L  I've bought 4 pairs of these great fins over 1.5 years - they're relatively lightweight, efficient in the water, don't cause a strain on the legs or lower back, and very affordable. I leave a pair with good friends/family that live in places I'll come back to visit and dive - saves on luggage space and weight. Also, it doesn't become a huge issue if I forget them on a dock somewhere...
Isaac J  these are the highest rated split fin full foot fins and at LP prices you can't go wrong!
david w  good review in scuba magazine a few years ago.
Michel L  I have used these fins previously, great fins for diving the Caribbean waters, comfortable, durable and best of all great price.
FRANCIS B  They work good for a good price.
DARREN H  I had a pair of these and wore them for 3 winters in Roatan snorkeling. They split this past winter so I had to replace them. Tried Mares Avanti in 2 different sizes and they did not work so decided to go back to these. I wear a womens' size 8.5-9 and my foot is fairly narrow. These Tusa's fit me perfectly. Avanti's were either too large or too small.
jim m  Excellent reviews, good price. These are wide in the heel for my feet, so I wear neoprene socks with them.
BRADLEY S  These are great light weight warm water dive fins I use for traveling. And perfrct for snorkeling.
JOSEPH T  wanted to have a pair of fine to travel with without booties i have worn the open heal zoom in the past and like them
RICHARD M  NEEDED TO REPLACE WORN OUT TUSA FF-9 FINS. THIS IS THE NATURAL UPGRADE/REPLACEMENT. BETTER QUALITY AND GREAT PERFORMANCE - EASY ON MY FEET.
MIKE D  good cheep fins for both snorkel and diving
MIKE D  good cheep fins for both snorkel and diving
ROBERT W  I have always had troubles with leg cramps when snorkeling. A number of people reported that these helped alleviate that problem for them. Works, no leg cramps, good power, easy cruising.
STEVE E  Great barefoot fin for snorkeling! Have even used them in a pinch for scuba. I could not find a negative review before I bought these fins and I can find nothing wrong with them. Have used them in both tropical and cold water.
Joe E  Hi. My wife and I currently use Oceanic V12 split fins. We are looking for a lightweight fin to take travelling. We like the split fin design as it is easy on my wife's knees so we were looking at either these Tusa closed heel split fins or the similar Oceanic V6s. However, I've been told by some people that without the heavier rubber construction these lighter weight plastic versions aren't effective at providing much propulsion. How do people find these for diving? Any good?
DEBORAH S  I bought these fins for a whale shark snorkel trip. They were not very good for snorkeling, I have never used them as dive fins.
DANIEL S  I find the propulsion to be a top feature of these fins. I've been diving since early childhood and I have to say that this was a favorite of mine. I have had these fins for about seven years now and they hold up spectacularly. On top of that I feel is though I move much faster than I have with previous purchases. An excellent but I would definitely recommend them
STEPHEN S  My uses them. She has two pair. We dive a lot. Mexico, Roatan, and Honduras.Enter
WILLIAM W  We used our Tusa closed heel fins only for snorkeling, but encountered some fairly rough water in St. Lucia and St. Maarten. The fins performed great. I believe there might be some risk of the fins slipping off your heel if you are kicking heavily in a strong current, but it is low. If traditional open heel fins with boots don't work for you, this is a good low cost alternative. Good luck.
GERALDINE D  I am also a woman, and I love mine (Tusa) . They are lightweight for travel but I think they give me a perfect amount of propulsion in the water. I definitely recommend them. they are the only ones I use
RICHARD B  Love them
Jock D  How long are they? I have a compartment I put my fins in on my boat
marcus s  They are different lengths based on the size They seem about normal length They work great for easy swimming They will not be the fastest racers They do all the things any split fun would do effectively I love my pair
Frank L  Depends on the size, but they are 23-26 inches.
