Nice fin!

I love this fin however, I have a size 7.5 foot and the foot pocket is HUGE...even with a 3mm bootie on. And I bought a small. Going to try the extra small and hopefully it will fit. Overall, the quality of the fin is excellent. It's not heavy either. So only complaint is the size issue.

good overall fin

My first set of fins. Not bad, but a little stiff for me. The straps are heavy duty and easy to clip on in the water. Simply loosen them up, clip them on and cinch them up. After being in the water for about 45 minutes, you know you have them on, they start to seem heavier than they are. I prefer the Mares Volo's, but these are a good all around utility fins. they get the job done without any frills.

Great basic fins!

By

from Singapore, Singapore, SG

I mostly dive in the tropics and previously use split fins. I bought the Tusa Solla in preparation for stronger-current waters. These worked out great as basic fins - not too powerful, great control, a bit more flexible than I would've liked (i swim more with my ankles and noticed an interesting "whip" in the fins at the end of each flick, which I initially mistook as having nicked something with my fins). I am a women's size 7 and bought the XS. The bootie box is a bit broad; I thought fit would be an issue affecting performance in the water, but did not find this to be a problem at all as long as the straps are securely tightened. Broader box actually made the fins easier to remove at the surface as I get ready to jump back into the boat.

Amazing fin for the price! (got them on sale here)

By

from Las Vegas, NV, US

I love these fins! Tons of power with little effort. I got the white and green which I love, makes it easy for my dive or snorkel buddies to spot me. Be advised, you will absolutely want to use dive boots with these, the foot pocket would murder your foot with out them. I'm a male shoe size 8.5 and I went with the small fins which fit perfectly! I would have had way too much extra room in the medium.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
MSK M  Top rating as best value in scuba mag. Replacing Tusa fins from 1995 that did not have big loop at heel nor did it have hole in toe to release water.
CHRISTI G  Dive buddy had these fins, so I decided to switch from Tusa XPERT Zoom split fins over to these blades for more zip. Very pleased with the switch.
THOMAS D  My wife wanted them for he color!
Paul R  How long is this fin from the end of heel pocket to the tip of fin? Would this be considered compact enough for a carry-on suitcase?
Scott S  Also, these fins actually come apart and fit very nicely in a carry on bag: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-tbtfv101/tusa-hyflex-vesna-fin-sf-0101
Frank L  They are 22.5 to 26 inches long, depending on size. These will not fit in a carry on. Try these instead: http://www.leisurepro.com/p-ocnfac/oceanic-accel-open-heel-fin
LARRY M  My wife has a pair of Tusa Solla fins in the XS (extra small) size, and they are 22.25" from the end of the heel (straps not included) to the very end of the dual tips. I do think the XS size would fit into a larger carry-on suitcase, but larger fin sizes may be an issue. I hope this helps.
CHRISTI G  It depends on the size. Our family has two sets of these and the XS are much much shorter than the L. That said, they are relatively long and even the smallest won't fit in a carry on sized dive bag. I researched it.
ELLIOT R  From heel to tip the fin is about 24 inches. By bending it, you should be able to get it to fit in most carry on suitcases 4 - 5 inches thick..
WILLIAM K  They would not fit in a standard carry on....
Shopper  will these fit well over DUI rockboots? i find that the opening needs to be quite tall for rockboots to fit in and be secure.
CHRISTI G  Also if you are buying spring straps, getting the correct fun size plus strap size plus boot can be a pain. Once achieved, well worth it. I wear a BARE boot with a thick rubber tennis show style sole and they fit fine into the XS fin size.
Scott S  These fins will fit fine over rockboots or any other type of boot, as long as you get the right size. Boots with a larger sole or that are oversized to fit over a drysuit will be larger than some other neoprene boots. So you should go up a size if you are comparing them to standard wetsuit boots.
TERI L  No. For rock boots I wear mares.
