About Tusa X-Pert Zoom Z3 Open Heel Split Fins

Over 5 years of research and development brought the highly regarded and best-selling SF-8 X-Pert Zoom split fin to market in 2003. TUSA redefines the fin market again with the introduction of the X-Pert Zoom Z3. The X-Pert 3Z further improves upon the performance, features and design of the SF-8 with the incorporation of 3 materials, 10% Longer Blade Length, Enhanced Propeller-Fin Technology, Reinforced Blade Rails and Optimized Blade Scoops. These new features along with TUSA's patented 27? Angled Blade Design and EZ Strap Buckle System make the X-Pert Zoom Z3 The Fin for Divers"

When using the standard traditional blade fin, with the leg completely extended, there remains an angle of 27 between the Heel and the Foot and the Calf of the Leg, causing a 10% Loss of Propulsion. Because the Fin is Angled Below-the-Body, during the Kick Phase, the Body is Pushed-Forward-and-Down, instead of Straight Ahead With the X-Pert Z3 Fin, that 27 Angle has been Designed-Into-the-Fin. This means that 100% of the Energy Expended during the Kick Phase is Directed-Toward the Propulsion of the Diver. To achieve Maximum Performance from this Fin, use a Small Bent-Knee Kick with a Light Rhythm. This creates Less Strain on the Leg Muscles compared with Traditional Fins, Reducing the Diver's Fatigue and Subsequent Air Consumption.

TUSA's Advanced Split Fins employ Propeller-Fin Technology, which delivers Ultra-High Performance with a Low Amplitude Rapid Flutter Kick. As the Fin moves through the water its Two Wing-Shaped Surfaces create Lift and Forward Propulsion like a Propeller. Any Water Traveling Over-the-Top of the Blade is Funneled Into-and-Out of the Split between the Blades Efficiency is Increased while Drag and Effort is Reduced. Fins are equipped with TUSA's High Quality Stainless Steel Spring Straps with TUSA's EZ Buckle System. The Spring Straps do not need to be Adjusted-for-Size and Easily Slip-Over-the-Heel securely when Donning-and-Doffing the Fins. The EZ Buckle System has Squeeze-Style" Quick-Release Buckles allowing Quick-and-Easy Adjustments with Minimal Effort Adjustment can be made while the fins are worn, allowing for a Precise Fit and Ease of Removal when necessary. Spring Straps are also Depth Compensating and Automatically Adjust for Wet Suit Boot Compression at Depth. Straps are equipped with a Comfortable Rubber Heel Grip with a Large Finger Loop for an Easy Fit.

The TUSA X-Pert Zoom Z3 Fins are available in sizes Small, Medium or Large and come in Black, Cobalt Blue and Flash Yellow in all 3 sizes, Pearlescent Pink in size Small and Metallic Red in sizes Medium or Large. The Fins are covered by a 36 month limited warranty.

Love These Fins

By

from Fortson, GA, US

These are the best all around fins I've ever dove. They are great on the surface and so easy on the legs without sacrificing performance. I have other fins from other brands and one in particular that has won top awards for years and years. It has nothing on these fins. I've tried other split fins also that don't compare to these. These frog kick very well also. These Z3s are great. So much so I have three pairs. Blue, Yellow and Red. My son loves them also.

MICHAEL E  Price and reviews mainly
MIKE P  I saw these for 3 times the price at sport chalet locally, so I went and bought them on leisure pro and saved a ton. Plus leisure pro added spring straps. Great fins for scuba.

JAY W  Starting SCUBA and wanted the additional "kick" that the split fin would provide. Recommended by dive shop. They worked great, glad I purchased them!
MICHAEL B  Best fins I have ever had. A little heavy for travel but worth every penny in easy of use and fatigue prevention.

Austin R  So I will be diving in Cozumel and I would like boots, what would you recommend, a 3mm or a 5mm?
Scott S  Either should work in that environment. The difference will probably be the style of boot itself instead of the thickness. Some boots have a sturdy sole and others a lighter sole, 3mm are usually slippers that have no zipper, whereas 5mm usually have a sipper on the side.
Frederick W  Either should work just fine. I dive with Akona 3mm boots. I've only used a shorty in Cozumel diving in the winter there. Sometimes a vest in some lakes in Tx.
COLLEEN B  I don't think it matters and depends how cold your feet get. It also depends how big your feet are and the size of the soles od the boots. If in doubt go for 3mm and you can get thermal socks if you get cold.
MIKE D  Really, either will work. I prefer a 3mm for the feel - not concerned about feet getting cold or "padding"
s o  Will this work with Tusa Imprex 5mm Dive Boot?
KENNETH S  Yes,they work great together!!
STEVEN T  Yes they will work. It may affect the fit however, making it feel a bit tight.
Michael M  I use spring straps. I find them much easier to get on and off on a rocking boat. So, to answer your question, yes. Depending on the type of dive I'm on, I will use anything from very light booties, to heavier boots then the Tusa 5mm. You should have no problem. The only issue you're going to have with those boots is drying them out. It takes forever. One tip. Put a couple dryer sheets in each boot once they are dry or close to being dry. This will remove smells and keeps from getting mildew.
MIKE D  Yes
EMILY G  The heel strap is adjustable and the foot is roomy so your 5mm boots should work just fine. I love my fins!
Frank L  Yes, depending on size.
