About Spare-Air Xtreme Sport 1.1 Kit

Submersible Systems introduces a safety product specifically designed for the extreme water-sport enthusiast. The Spare Air Xtreme Sport uses the same proven technology that SCUBA divers have using since the sport became popular. For 35 years, divers around the world have used Spare Air to perform self-rescues and to save others where only a few extra breaths are necessary to prevent drowning. The HEED version of the Spare Air has been helping the Military, Firemen and other rescue personnel save lives in land rescue situations.

Over the years, kayakers, surfers and other water-sportsmen have been using the Spare Air as a rescue safety device. Their only complaint - they needed something that was "hands free." The Xtreme Sport solves this by reducing the size of the air tank and mounting the unit in a neoprene vest in a chest pocket. Now your next breath is only inches away. The unit's cylinder is a 1.1 cu. ft. (31.15 liter) capacity at 3000 psi (200 bars) which equates to approximately 20 normal breaths. The neoprene vest fits under or over the user's Personal Floatation Device (PFD).

The cylinder measures (L x Dia.) 7.25" x 2.25" (18.42cm x 5.71cm), weighs 19.68oz (558g) its small size stays out of the way when you're on your board or boat. The Spare Air Xtreme Sport simple mount, easy to reach for a quick breath and enough air, to help remain calm to resolving many short, out of breath emergency situations makes it great when in large surf or white water conditions. Breathe on demand regulator, no complicated instructions, just put it in your mouth and breathe! The Spare Air Xtreme Sport can be easily refilled from any filled SCUBA tank. Note: All Spare Air cylinders meet certificated specifications of the US Department of Transportation (DOT) with DOT-3AA specification and Transport Canada Safety and Security (TC) with TC-3AAM specifications. Cylinder is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

B B  Why do you have to be certified to get this filled if it is used as a backup for a dive hookah? Its just for safety. Not worth getting certified for.
Gilberto R  How much or what is the PSI for this small divice of spare -air holds? Is it 1000-PSI, or can I get one that holds 3000-PSI with the chest vest? Thank you, Scuba Gil :-)

Dmitri P  What is the maximum size of the Chest Mount Harness? Do I fit in size SPARE AIR Chest Mount Harness, if my breasts are 45 inches and I use 9mm thick suit, and also using the Omer Sub Weight Harness? Also the question of the use SPARE AIR in cold water. What is the minimum temperature of the water in which you can use SPARE AIR? I wanted to clarify a possible situation "free flow"..
Michael C  Yes it should fit, it is adjustable around the chest with velcro straps. It may be a bit tight with both the weight harness and wetsuit.
