      Comments about Seasoft Sealion Bcd:

I use this BCD for open water dives in the Pacific Northwest. It fits me well and is easy to don and doff. I prefer the two tank straps, and I haven't had any issues with a lose or shifting tank.

My major beef with this BCD is the Quick Ditch pocket system. It's an absolutely brilliant idea in theory; trimming yourself by tossing bullets and extra weight into the pockets, then in emergency, releasing the bottoms. Unfortunately, the bottom of the pockets have gaps on either side of the resease strap, and bullets and anything under about 3.5 inches falls right through. I have perfected this, by duck taping all my weights together into 3x5" blocks that fit in easily, and don't fall out the bottom. This also standardizes the weight for every dive. Just pop the blocks in and go.

For drysuit dives where I've had to add more weight, I just put the weight blocks and any additional bullets I need into a mesh bag, so they cannot drop through the bottom of the pockets. I've never lost a weight yet......knock on wood!

      It's a great value too.

      Comments about Seasoft Sealion Bcd:

I bought this because I am a big guy (350lbs) and needed something adjustable that would fit me. This is the only BCD I have ever worn that truly fits, but of course there are a few catches.

      1. The purge valve broke on the second dive. When pulling the valve to let out some air, the whole value popped right off. The threaded plastic part inside the bladder just plain broke. I am sure I was not pulling too hard.

      2. the weight pockets are not the most secure. Instead of having a cartridge like some BCDs,there are pockets where the bottom of the pockets can be released. Unfortunately, the bottom does not close very well and it is easy for weights to slide around and poke out. I had one weight drop out on the boat before the dive even started. I never lost a weight during the 16 dives so far though.

All in all, it works for me quite well, but could stand a few improvements.

        Comments about Seasoft Sealion Bcd:

Live in the Pacific Northwest and with conditions have a ton of gear and tend to look like a christmas tree. I used to dive the Scubapro Brand. Bulky and u have to luck into a good fit with them. with the adjustments you can load up for cold and warm water in less than 5 min.it has great lift, ton of d rings and gromit holes. like the weight placement over the pro model. recomend to anyone. BEST weight ditch system in the market.
