Very comfortable Hood!!

By Trackr99

Great fit. Very warm. Used in 50 degree water with no problems.

When diving, the deeper a diver goes the colder it generally gets and with increasing pressure, a typical neoprene hood gets thinner. If the temperature is getting colder and your hood is getting thinner, you're going to get cold. And, when you consider that 40% of heat loss is from the head area, it seems like this would be a place to make sure you are adequately protected to ensure warmth and comfort.

All of SEASOFT Ti PRO Hoods have compressed neoprene for the back panels of the hood. This means that no matter how deep you go, they are still their original thickness and working to keep you warm!

You will not find any seams down the middle of the chin either. This seam, found in almost all hoods today, can cause jaw fatigue. The seam is there because it is less expensive to make a hood from just two halves. We do not believe that a hood is the place to go cheap.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Waheeb H  Hi, Thank you for this tools is great. I need a hood that does not let my hair get wet. Does this hood keep the water to get to my hair? That's mean my hair will be totally dry after swim!
PAUL W  No, your hair will be very wet.
CHARLES C  I have the hood and will say that you would have to be lucky for your hair not to get wet during a dive. It depends if the sizing and fit turns out to be a perfect for your head shape, only then would you have a chance for your head to stay totally dry. It also depends on getting a perfect seal on your neck where it comes in contact with your suit. I recommend the hood never the less since it goes on easy and keeps me warm.
ELIZABETH B  No, your hair will be totally wet after each and every swim. But you'll be warmer for having worn the hood. :-)
CHARLES L  My hair gets damp just where the opening for your face is. The rest of my hair stays dry. I highly recommend this hood. It keeps your head warm even in 37 degree water.
KEITH V  No neoprene hood will keep your hair totally dry. They are designed to keep your head warm during cold water dives, but because of the shape of your face and neck, the seals will always let in a little bit of water. The tighter the fit, the less water that will get in, and usually as you start a dive less water will get in because the build up of pressure improves the seal. Your head will stay very warm, but your hair will definitely still be a little bit wet at the end of a dive.
JARROD J  Hair will eventually get wet every time
SARINA E  I wish, but no, your hair will get wet. The difference between this hood and a wet suit hood is that a wet suit hood has a bib which tucks into the jacket to retain heat and minimize water exchange. One can't tuck a hood into a dry suit neck seal if you really want to stay dry. This hood is meant to work with the neck seal of a dry suit. Diving dry is so nice now, I added dry cloves with the SI Tech system, so the only part of me that does get wet is my neck up. Unless, of course, there is a drysuit or bladder malfunction. ;)
