About Seasoft Sunray 3 mm Low Cut Boots with Zipper

SEASOFT's SUNRAY Booties are considered by the US Military, Professional and Recreational Divers to be the Very-Best. The SEASOFT Sunrays are a Warm Water Version of the Stealth Boots and will deliver the same performance but in a 3 mm Version with a Mid-Top Fit! And it has the same great arch support. Cramps are an issue for most divers. Soft-Soled Dive Booties cause the Foot to Flex-Continuously inside the Foot Pocket of their Fins Causing Cramps. Most divers think this is an inevitable price to pay to dive or snorkel, it's not! SEASOFT uses a Hard Sole when manufacturing their Boots. This eliminates the Up-and-Down Motion of the Foot inside the Foot Pocket of your Fins that causes Cramping.

All SEASOFT Boots have a Hard Sole that inside the Fin Foot Pocket gives you Complete-Control of your Fins. Be more Comfortable-and-Faster because you use your thighs, calves and buttocks, the big muscle groups, to provide your power to move you through the water. By bypassing these small muscles, SEASOFT Booties use the large muscle groups to powerfully move you through the water. SEASOFT Booties have a money back guarantee - if you get cramps, we will send you another pair or you can return them. We have never had a diver return a pair! Another good reason to buy a SEASOFT bootie: Divers can easily carry over a hundred pounds of gear; should you be wearing bedroom slippers OR athletic footwear? The obvious answer, of course, is athletic footwear because an Elevated Heel and an Arch Support underneath the Sole of your Boot create Stability and Comfort. The Elevated Heel gives you the ability to Safely-Carry your Gear on Sand, Rocks and Lava, or on Wet Docks and Pitching Boat Decks. The Arch Support provides Stability and Supports the Foot and Ankle.

If you agree that Athletic Footwear is Important, you should be Wearing SEASOFT Diving Booties. SEASOFT's competitors LOOK Athletic from the outside but are not athletic where it counts, on the inside. If the heel is not raised, it's just a bedroom slipper! SEASOFT Diving Booties Utilize High-Quality Nylon ll Neoprene, a Fin Guard on the Heel of the Boot keeps your Fin Strap properly in place throughout the dive and the Heavy Duty Zipper is equipped with a Zip-Keeper. All Seams are Glued-with-Dry-Suit-Cement and are than Stitched with Heavy-Duty Thread for Strength and Durability. The Sunray Boots utilize a Glide-Skin Lining for Easy On/Off. So join the US Military, Police, Sheriff and Fire Departments and tens of thousands of other divers in discovering just how Warm, Comfortable, Safe and Effective you can be in SEASOFT Booties. Boots are Black in color and are covered by a 24 month limited warranty.

The Seasoft Sunray 3 mm Low Cut Boots with Zipper is commonly used for Cold Water, Professional, Recreation, Shore diving, Warm Water and more. Bought these boots for my wife and I for our trip to Bonaire with its rugged shore entries. Boots worked great, protected our feet from the sharp rocks along the shoreline, the soles are nice and thick for great protection. The inner boot is very comfortable as well, we snorkeled with them for hours at a time with no discomfort. They were even durable enough to to withstand the cave tour we went on, they were our only footwear we had at the time and we were even able to to exit the cave climbing a rope with these boots as our only gripping surface on the rock face and they withstood that test as well. Very pleased with the quality of this boot.

Bought these boots to replace thin soled boots that I could feel every rock with during shore entry.
These solved thin sole problem with nice thick treaded sole but comes with a whole slew of problems itself.

1) Sole inside the boot is smooth so when you walk after a dive, (meaning water inside) your foot has a tendency to slide and jam your toes to the front of the boot.
There is no water drain in the boot.

2) The height inside the boot is very high so gives you no top of the foot support adding to the toe jam in the front problem.

You can alleviate this issue somewhat by wear a sock.

The biggest problem with this boot is:
Because of the tick rubber sole and padding, it's overly buoyant.

For it to be a great boot deserving a 5 star it should be close to neutral buoyant as possible.
Due to this positive buoyancy, if you dive with lighter fins it will push your head down in a very awkward and uncomfortable position.

If you constantly swim and correct your position, you might not notice but for any advanced diving where being perfectly horizontal with need for absolute buoyancy control, with minimal effort, these are the wrong boots to get (unless your fins are heavy like jet fins. Then these boot can help alleviate some of the negative buoyancy.)

These are not great boots. It's just a boot with a tick sole.

Much Too Wide

Pros

  • Nice Footbed

Cons

  • Just Too Wide For Apollo

Best Uses

Comments about Seasoft Sunray 3 mm Low Cut Boots with Zipper:

The boot does not fit Apllo Bio size medium. They are too wide. Otherwise, I would like the boots. I should have checked the fit with my fins before I went on a trip.

    ordering third pair

Comments about Seasoft Sunray 3 mm Low Cut Boots with Zipper:

These are the best, most comfortable boots my wife and I have found. The first pair we owned lasted great. The second pair (both hers and mine) which we are now replacing had the soles seperated from the neopreme upper. Tried re-gluing with limited success. Did not have this problem with the first pair. Hope they have the problem fixed. That said, the boots with the problem had probably 200 dives on wifes pair and over 300 on my pair. So still satisfied, I just think the bonding was not as good as on the original pair. We like them well enough and have not found anything better that we are both ordering another pair.
One reviewer mentioned foot slipage in the boot because of the slick inside. This is a problem walking down inclines but is solvable. We have worn lycra socks for years and believe it or not the socks eliminate that problem and also prevent blisters from diving 6-7 days a week for 3 months straight (mostly Bonaire). Lycra socks are foot savers if you dive a lot. A person would think the socks would make the foot slippage in the boot worse, but they completely eliminate it.

The ONLY negative we have with the boots is the sole coming loose from the upper (after a lot of diving). Otherwise they would have been a 5 star.

Comments about Seasoft Sunray 3 mm Low Cut Boots with Zipper:

The boot has thick and stiff soles - great for shore diving. I have some concerns about quality as the rubber on the right boot is already coming off. This is after 30 dives in Bonaire.
