About Suunto Zoop Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer

The ZOOP dive computer from Suunto is a wrist-mounted computer that will not only enhance your time under water; it will also help you be a safer diver without breaking the bank. Its ability to operate in two modes (Air and Nitrox), safety features (decompression stop data, audible alarms, and easy-to-read display), and simple menus mean the ZOOP will provide critical dive data when it is needed quickly and accurately. It employs the reduced gradient bubble model (RGBM), which is an algorithm developed to calculate decompression stops; this algorithm is a model used to determine how much gas is accumulated during a dive and how much time is required at your safety stop(s) to safely surface.

Suunto's ZOOP is PC-compatible, so you can easily store your dive data (up to 50 hours) and logs on a PC. It is activated by water, so you don't have to worry about forgetting to start your computer and losing a single dive's valuable data. Because this computer is wrist mounted, there's never a need to search for your gauge console when you want to check on your depth, maximum bottom time, dive time, and no deco time. All of that information is available at a moment's notice, right on your wrist In addition, the ZOOP's bright phosphorescent display makes seeing your dive data easy during night and day dives.

The ZOOP provides a depth display to 330' (100 meters), its clock can be set with a 12 or 24 hour format, provides temperature reading above and below the surface to 1.5° (1°C) accuracy and is altitude adjustable up to 10,000' (3,000 meters). The computer can be programed for Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 50% oxygen and displays oxygen partial pressures from 17.4 psi to 23.2 psi (1.2 to 1.6 bars). The ZOOP is powered by a user replaceable 3volt CR2450 lithium ion battery. The ZOOP can be set for imperial (feet) or metric (meter) measurements. Computer comes with a owner's manual and quick guide.

Same as Gekko

This is the same computer as the Gekko. The only difference is this computer supports PC download. However this is because the fact that many people were modifying Gekko computers to enable this feature. So if you're not interested in PC download, or interested in saving a few bucks look at flashing a Gekko (Google "Gekko2Viper"). Overall, this is a rock solid beginner computer. Although it has no backlight the display is bright and large enough to be viewable in every light condition. The m...

very conservative on multiple dives

This is my second Suunto- it is reliable and easy to read- despite adjustments I find that suunto as a rule is very conservative and has little bottom time with multiple dives in one day as compared to other major brands of computers

Excellent computer

from Swansboro , NC, US

Extremely easy to use computer. I highly recommend this computer to my open water students. It has an easy plan/scroll mode and is very conservative which is especially nice for new divers.

Easy to read, Easy to use

from Park City, UT, US

Until they make a dive computer that is easy menu driven, this is the next best thing. I dive nitrox, Not hard to switch from standard to nitrox and put in your %. First time I just googled it and directions came right up, didn't have manual with me. After you do it once easy to repeat each day you dive. Regoogle for each trip though. I bought three, one for me and my two sons. All three together cost less than my husband oceanic. None of us have had any troubles. Battery still good after a year and 3 dive trips average 14 dives trip. I bought orange so it doesn't get lost in my bag! I would buy another if needed.

Perfect dive computer

from Austin, TX, US

Perfect. Easy to use. Everything you need, nothing extra.

Suunto Zoop

I have purchased 3 Suunto Zoops as gifts based on my experience with a Gekko. They are reliable and easy to use.

Good Back Up Computer

from Cold Spring, MN, US

I use the Zoop as a back-up computer to my main which is integrated with my SPG. It also makes for an easy read on my wrist.

Lazaro D  Great Prices
John H  Great price, I checked around, and recommended by my dive buddy.
Michael G  I was looking for an affordable dive computer for occasional recreational dives. Read the reviews which were all good and made the purchase.
JEREMY L  I lived in Finland for 2 years. I was introduced to Suunto products and I think highly of them! I was doing a quick equipment check online. I was very impressed with the price you are selling this dive comp... Cheapest I could find! I couldn't afford not to buy it! I found all the info you gave for this product to be helpful and I cant think of a way to make your site better or deliver better product info! I will be shopping more with your company in the future!
Joseph W  I've owned a Gekko since 2008. It finally failed. This is the closest thing I could find.
Nicholas R  I've used this same dive computer numerous times as a rental. It's a great computer, but it's time to own my own so I can set and keep my own dive parameters. Also, with the rental gear, it's always on a gauge console, and I prefer to have it on my wrist. I find it much more convenient, especially when trying to hover for a safety stop.
Thomas E  The reviews were great on this dive computer and one of my dive instructors has one and told me that he liked it last year when I did my advanced open water certification. Unfortunately I only get to dive for one week each year and I think this computer will fit the bill for the diving that I do.
Peggy Higgins H  Best features for price, plus good reviews.
Henry B  good reviews and a good price
HenryMark B  Purchased one for my wife and she likes it! Great entry level dive computer!
Adriana V  A friende recommended as a very good product, simple to use.
Camelia M  I spent hours on different sites reviewing different DCs and the reviews of this particular model made me feel safest. Also, the dive instructor I dove with in Cozumel uses a Suunto.
Richard K  For its simplicity and ease of use as well as I wanted to be able to download my dive log to my PC. The reviews are excellent and the price is affordable, especially from Leisurepro.
richard h  I got this for my daughter for xmas because this was the one she wanted. your site was very helpfull
Jo Ann A C  East Coast Divers in Brookline, Ma. recommended this.
Chad S  Easy to read and operate. All of the essential information needed in a user-friendly package.
goerge g  Needed a simple, convenient (new) wrist computer. Price was right, too.
Robert W  Best entry level dive computer on the market at the best price.
BRIAN D  Bought The Zoop to replace an 8 year old Gekko with over 200 dives because it will fit in my existing console. Gekko quit registering dives. Not worth fixing. Simple to use once set up for your profile. Inexpensive for the amount of function provided. Recreational diver.

Paul K  Easy to use, reliable, and dive masters all say it's a great computerâ?¦this is my second ZOOP/GEKKO computer. Love the bright yellow for a change! Susan McGraw Keber
Heather M  I wanted to purchase a nice dive computer for my husband. This will provide him with all of the needed information while diving and is nitrox ready. I chatted with expert, Paula G., and she was a great help to me. Thank you!
Stephanie Z  I'm off to Florida for a dive trip in a week and cannot find my Suunto Gekko! I know it's around somewhere but cannot take a chance that I will find it in time! I love my Gekko wrist computer, have 50 dives with it and it's worked perfect. Easy to use, large display, and I know how to navigate the pages. The Zoop appears identical to the Gekko with the added benefit that I can now download and see my dives on my PC! Looking forward to that!
JACOB R  It's a conservative dive computer. I am using it as a back up to my Aeris console mounted computer.
JEFF S  Prior experience with Suunto products and it was a good value
CARL H  price - size - nitrox features
JOSEPH A  Right price at Christmas two years ago, but the computer is very hard to go through menus, so I don't use it anymore. I bought a sherwood instead.
ROGER G  It replaced the Suunto Gekko which I have and love.
MICKEY G  I like the displays. And the size.
ted b  can error mode be reset?
KEVIN F  Specific product support for the Zoop can be found here:
G R  How does this compare to the Oceanic 180VO that I already have and is it water activated?
MATTHEW E  very Good Computer but very Conservtive goes Error Mode very Easy
BETTE N  I use the zoop. But I don't know anything about your oceanic. Yes. It is water activated. And I think it's main feature is the large interface numbers. We have four zoops now, and have been disappointed in our older zoops, in that they seem to die after three or four years. It's a good price though, for a basic computer.. It works reliably until it dies. Would that all of us could say that.
BARBARA S  I don't know how the Zoop compares to the oceanic you have-but I can tell you that the Zoop is very conservative and when I use it along with my oceanic geo 2, the Zoop gives me a lot less NDL, so I'm not a big fan, especially if you do repetitive diving. I'd stick with an Oceanic if you want a more aggressive algorithm. The Zoop is a good entry level device and is often used as rental gear since it is so conservative. I believe it is water activated but haven't taken it on a dive in a while. It does have large size display and is Nitrox adjustable. Hope this helps. Bobby PADI OWSI.
