Comments about Aqualung Sea Quest Side Draft Flex Snorkel:

Normally I like aqualung products, but this is not a very good snorkel (especially for diving). It is big and bulky and has a tendency to get in the way when diving as well as create a lot of drag. Despite being longer than most snorkels it floods pretty easily and is difficult to clear. The vertical vents on the top which are supposed to reduce water intake don't do much good. Also, the transparent flexible tube portion of the snorkel isn't affixed super-tight and has a tendency to rotate...this is easily corrected, but still somewhat of a hassle. The only positives are that it has a fairly wide bore so it breathes pretty well, and the comfo-bite mouthpiece is probably "the best" snorkel mouthpiece. As a side note, I recently purchased the Tusa Platina Hyperdry II (contrary to it's name, it is a semi-dry snorkel) and I love it! Of the several snorkels I have owned the Tusa is definitely the best and the only one I can highly recommend.

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  Can I purchase just a spare mouthpiece?
LeisurePro S  Yes, the comfo-bite mouthpiece can be purchased here.
Shopper  looking at the sidedraft flex and not sure of the difference of a "dry" snorkel. what is the splash guard feature and the snorkel keeper. thanks
LeisurePro S  Dry means that when you submerge and your mouth is on the snorkel, no water will enter the snorkel. Splash guard mean the snorkel will give you surface splash protection from waves. Snorkel Keeper "keeps" the snorkel attached to your mask for use.
