Everything about this knife is great except the barnicle bolts. Maybe its just on my BC, but the bolts are too short to attach the knife to the mares icon via the knife grommets (couldnt even get the first thread to grab). I ended up ordering metric stainless steel hex bolts and fender washers and now it fits and functions great, however it would have been nice if I didnt have to spend $20 in hardware to attach a [$] knife.

Very nice little BC knife, and mounts neatly on your inflator hose. I really liked it, but was always bothered by the rather weak springs on the locking mechanism. It came out entirely too easily, I thought. Then, last week, it finally happened. It popped out of its sheath, probably on the giant stride entry, and is now residing somewhere on the bottom of the Cay Sal Banks. Now I am shopping for a new knife, and am looking for a really positive locking system. But that's what everyone has been saying this knife has. (?) Maybe my springs were defective? Too bad, the knife was darn near perfect otherwise.

BC attachment threaded knobs are too short and the plastic heads both broke off after a couple trips. Time to head to the hardware store and figure out a plan B.

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Ray A  WAS TOLD BLUNT KNIFE BEST TO USE - FOUND ECONOMICAL
Shopper  aqualung pro QD bcd. will this fit into the housing that aqualung put on?
LANCE M  I can't be specific about the housing on that particular BCD, but this knife is very easy to attach to any BCD. I have a Seaquest proQD and found an area above the pocket that i could burn two holes in without affecting the air bladders. The sheath has two screws and nuts that can attach it to your BCD. Hope that helps. You can also attach it to your air hose to your BCD.
marty a  is it titanium blade?
JUSTIN F  There is a titanium blade version. I don't remember the model # but it's the more expensive one.
