Fit right on my inflatable kayak super easy and very durable. Make kayak stay in line!

Make sure you don't waste a minute of playtime when you use a Sevylor Skeg on your kayak. This skeg fits Sevylor Tahiti, Fiji and Clear Creek kayaks (see SKU's: SLRC4125, SLR4132, SLRC5233). Simply attach it to your vessel and it can help you keep a straighter course in windy conditions. Your paddling will go further with this skeg, which can increase your speed and keep you steadier on the water. This new directional skeg helps you maneuver better and gives you greater control in the water. Skeg is made from durable plastic and is easy to install.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Life G  Where was it made?
TODD W  Don’t know but still using both after 4 years
Steve Q  has this skeg been problematic about falling out as in the other models?
RICHARD B  I've not had an problem with the skeg falling out. Just make sure you install it before inflating the boat, and make sure it stays aligned, otherwise you will find yourself going in circles...
AMY P  I've always felt very stable. I haven't done any white water with it just up to maybe class 2 but other then that it's pretty stable. I'm 5'11" and about 190. So no problems
CAROL M  No, it has always stayed on securely on our two Tahiti models.
Joan R  How does this mount?
CHRIS D  One end of skeg hooks inside boat under apron, then has a point on skeg that slips into a ftting on outside of boat to lock it in. Best to install skeg before fully inflated. Works great! Well worth the investment.
SCOTT F  I guess Leisure Specialties wants me to answer this for them :oP Your Tahiti has a black plastic mount on one side of the boat. The lace for your splash guard might be threaded through it currently. The skeg has a pin that fits into this black mount. Beyond that, the interior part of the skeg conforms to the shape of the boat when inflated, which also helps hold it in place. Loosen your splash guard a bit and make sure the skeg is in place before inflating. You'll probably have to adjust it as the boat takes shape. Take note, not only does Leisure Specialties "outsource" their Q&A, their products also ship from other suppliers. This wasn't a problem for me, but it was a bit of a surprise.
GEORGE W  The teardrop shaped piece goes inside the fold at the point of the stern when deflated and the prong which sticks up goes through the hard black rubber mounting further down. Hope this helps.
Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Richard F  per reviews, the skag is recommended.
