Comments about Sevylor 12V Electric Trolling Motor:

I got this motor to power my Sevylor 4 person Caravelle K85 I was looking at this one and the 12 lb thrust SBM 12 I'm very glad I got this one I have only had it out once at a local lake low speed is about the speed of a leasurly row high speed wont pull a skier lol but moves you at a pretty good pace around 3-4 MPH and is much easier then digging in with the oars that was with a fishing buddy myself and all our gear adding up to around 350 lbs it truly preformed better then I expected I used an 18 amp hour general purpose battery which i already had here and after an hour of motoring around at mostly high there was no sign of the battery going down to have such good power the motor is small and light I see no problem packing it down to the river bank were I fish this motor may not be as good on a row boat but for an inflatable its more then enough I am very pleased with it

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  What is the horse power of this outboard?
    LeisurePro S  12V motor is approx. 2HP.
Shopper  Can I use this motor in salt water?
LeisurePro S  The manufacturer suggests to use it only in fresh water just because it's not really a powerful enough motor for the open/offshore ocean. It will work in salt water fine, say in estuaries or along the coastline.
Shopper  I have a Sevylor 3 person Caravelle. Do I need a motor mount?
LeisurePro S  Yes, I would recommend the motor mount.
