About SeaLife SL920 Float Strap
Keep cameras, lights, and other devices afloat. The universal SeaLife Float Strap is designed to float many brands of underwater cameras, lights, and other waterproof devices. The float strap is especially important for the Micro HD, HD+, and Micro 2.0 cameras because of their negative buoyancy. The strap can be worn on the wrist or use the swivel gate quick clip to attach to gear. Strap is made from durable neoprene rubber with taped and sewn edges for added strength. Sewn webbing attaches the impact resistant gate clip and the strap has hook & loop fastener for attachment to wrist. The neoprene rubber is international orange color for high visibility.
The SL920 Float Strap has 3.5 oz. (100 g) of positive lift force in fresh water and 3.6 oz. (103 g) of lift in salt water. This lift force calculation is at the surface only. The float strap is made of closed-cell soft neoprene, so it becomes less buoyant at depth because the neoprene air cells compress with water pressure. It is not the camera weight that determines if the strap will float the camera or not. It is the weight of the camera in water that determines it's buoyancy and required lift force. You can weigh your camera in water using a fish scale or pull force gauge. If you weigh it in fresh water, add 3% lift force for salt water.
