Comments about Sealife SL726 DC1400 Pro Duo Set:

I bought this this after the D600 I had finally died. The ease of use and extended battery life is a great welcome over the D600. The price and compact size is also great compared to an expensive camera and expensive housing.

Comments about Sealife SL726 DC1400 Pro Duo Set:

I purchased this camera from NZ when it was first distributed. On my first dive trip to Indonesia with it I noticed it was very easy to use and worked up to all my expectations. However, during numerous multi level macro dives, the piano keys would freeze up upon going to shallower depths and was unable to adjust the settings so pictures were with terrible color. The shutter is VERY slow using the external flash. Out of the housing on land, I found it very shaky, and slow to activate the shutter once the button is pushed.

Comments about Sealife SL726 DC1400 Pro Duo Set:

This camera takes good pictures and decent video. Video is grainy in low light and slightly jumpy at all times. Photos can be quite good, once the user gets accustomed to using the various modes. Macro works well. Auto-focus works well most of the time. Housing is well-designed, with easy-to-use controls. LCD display is great. Video light is bright and lasts a long time on one set of batteries. Same for the stobe. The one major complaint I have against this camera is that it takes forever to take the picture when using the strobe. Literally, it takes 2-3 seconds after pressing the shutter button before the strobe fires. This is okay for still subjects, but does not work at all for moving or shy subjects. I have missed many good shots because of this.

Comments about Sealife SL726 DC1400 Pro Duo Set:

My wife gave me this camera as a birthday gift. We used it on a recent dive trip to Grand Cayman. I have no experience with underwater photography but found the camera extremely easy to use and set up. Some of my pictures were great, others a little blurry, which I attributed to user inexperience. The HD video function is exceptional. My only criticism of the set up is that when holding each of the flash poles, it takes a long finger to reach the shutter release. Also, use caution when carrying the camera in the case, the photo flash is easily turned on by the unit sliding in the case and the result is dead batteries. I had to leave the batteries out of the photo flash until use. All in all, I would have had to pay 5-6 thousand dollars for a watertight case and external flash/video light for my digital SLR. At [$], this package is phenominal!

Comments about Sealife SL726 DC1400 Pro Duo Set:

The settings for the product make it easy to use and set up. If you aren't experienced with U/W cameras, since no tutorial video is available, you need to take a class of some sort to get familiar with proper use and to get the most out of your purchase from a local dive shop.

Overall, it's a great product combo, and reasonably priced.

Geoff L  Is the tray which the camera and lights mount to made of plastic or metal?
Geoff L  Can staff answer this question? I seem to have two conflicting answers at this point.
Jason S  Will the strobe & video lights work fine out of the water without overheating? I plan on using this as my non-dslr replacement camera for underwater & above water.
John I  I would not use these out of water, way too bright, as it is I need to but a diffuser for underwater applications.
Aaron K  Do you sell this camera with two strobes instead of 1 strobe and 1 video light?
Frank L  No, we do not. But you could purchase the items separately.
