Would any back plate work with these wings ? I will be diving doubles (LP95 or LP98) and the larger model (90 lbs lift) seems very nice. I will be taking deco classes and maybe eventually trimix.
Steve S
Yes, most backplates will work with this wing. ScubaPro does sell an X-Tek backplate though.

Mathieu,
The short answer is MOST backplate and harness systems will work. I've used this wing with the Diverite and Hollis backplates without any problems. It will also obviously work with a ScubaPro setup and based on the slotting I've seen; the Halcyon backplates as well.
Cheers,
Alex

If you have the chance, you should try out a similar sized rig before you buy it to see if you like it. I bought the 60lbs lift wing and i like it. Has more lift than i need and i am fairly tall, diving double steel 130s plus deco bottles. I am sure the 90lbs version is fine as well, just dont know if I would need it. Double steel 130s are 20lbs negative tops (going towards neutral once close to empty), and i have a few pounds positive from my drysuit, so 60 is more than i need.

does this BC come with everything needed to dive ? What are the pros and Cons using this compared to jacket style BCs? keeping in mind I don't have many dives in and I will want to use this for wreck diving etc...at some point.
COPIOUS C
only thing i don't like about it is that on top of the water..it pitches me forward a little...other than that its a great bcd.
ALAN D
Thanks that is very helpful.

No, if you want to buy b/p style, it will have to buy some other goods as back plate, harness at least.

This BC is for someone that is interested in double tank diving. If your using steel tanks than you will probably not need the integrated weight pockets. If you get the single bladder then expect to get the pockets and a single tank adapter. The bladders are interchangeable so if you start out with single tank dives and later on decide to upgrade to doubles then it's as easy as removing a couple screws and throwing the other bladder on there. note that this item is the bladder only. You will also need the x-tech harness as well.

Hi There, I was wondering if you could help me with what I would need for a complete single setup, and if this combination would work?
- Scubapro X-Tek Form Tek Harness System with Stainless Steel Back Plate
- Scubapro X-Tek Single Tank Adapter 133
- Scubapro X-Tek Horseshoe Wing Bladders
Many thanks,
Dave

That combination will work. You may however, want to consider a wing with less lift: Scubapro X-Tek Donut Wing Single Tank SKU: SCPXTDWS. 60 lbs is overkill for singles in my opinion and will create unnecessary drag. And since you are looking for a single setup I'm assuming you're not going to have an unbalanced load from stages for example, so any advantage a horseshoe wing would provide in that situation is not really relevant.

Dave,
only dove it once so far, but had no issues, worked well. I don't know about singles though. Like most bladders its wide enough to accomodate doubles (which is what i dive), singles might work, but could be less steady. Believe leisurepro sells donut bladders specifically. for singles though, you may want to. check those out.
