The Best Suit I have owned

By DR F.

 -  Monument, CO, US

I have been diving cold water since 1973. I have owned farmer johns, two piece with hooded vests and stretch suits covering just about any configuration you can imagine. I am also an advanced instructor, so I am in the water, and not always moving much, a whole lot. Several years ago I purchased the 7.5mm Nova Scotia, with hood and gloves. It is simply the warmest suit I have ever owned. It fits well, maintains a constant buoyancy from the surface to depth and has endured tech gear, wrecks, t...

Excellent Product Amazing Seller

By Haysam G.

100% recommended Keep you warm, the only problem you will have is the zipper in the back you need someone to help you . Does not com with the hood even if you bought it direct from Scubapro

Offering a snug-fitting, flexible dive suit with good thermal properties and minimal water intrusion, the new Nova Scotia semi-dry is the perfect solution for staying very warm and relatively dry while virtually eliminating hydro drag, radically improving a diver's ability to move easily through the water. With its new 7.5/6.5mm thickness, easy-zip YKK Aquaseal Vislon dry zipper, improved plush lining to increase warmth and stretch, and a long list of convenience features, the Nova Scotia is the diver's answer to a comfortable, affordable semi-dry suit. Positioned between a traditional wetsuit and a neoprene dry suit, the Nova Scotia delivers the best of both worlds in cold water, temperate water, and multi-dive thermal protection.

CE certified a Class A dive suit -- rated for water temperatures ranging from 45 Degree F (7 Degree C) to 54 Degree F (12 Degree C). New 7.5/6.5mm suit is made of 100% Everflex neoprene, an X-Foam formulation for better health, and it is assembled using eco-friendly solvent-free Aqua glue. Pure Design Concept uses fewer seams and panels to ensure maximum flexibility. Blind-stitched seams block water entry. Internal stress discs installed at stitch intersections protect seams, extending the suit's working life. Rear shoulder-to-shoulder YKK Aquaseal Vislon dry main zipper with heavy-duty plastic slider is flexible yet provides an excellent seal against water entry. New plush interior liner in the arms, legs and shoulder areas increases warmth and stretch.

Double zippered seals on ankles and wrists feature KA brass sliders for durability, water-tightness and ease of use. Fold-under neck seal is ultra-comfortable and keeps water seepage to a minimum. Right thigh 3D pocket offers lots of room for carrying extra gear. The hood hook has been moved to the outside of the pocket for added convenience. Shoulders and kneepads feature both anti-abrasion patterns and extra rubber prints to provide protection while adding a stylish look. Enhanced spine pad provides a welcomed cushion where the tank hits the diver's back. I-Safe straps on both arms offer nonslip mounting spots for securing wrist instruments. Suit is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.

Q&A

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

PHIL A  What hood are people using with this suite? Does it have to be a scubapro hood?
TREVOR T  I use a Pinnacle Merino wool lined hood
DAN C  Usually to get to 40-50 degF water, I must pass through much warmer water to get there.  Often times the dive buddy wants to spend more time above the thermocline than below.  Could I be comfortable in 65-70 degF water for extended periods?  Can you let water in to cool off if you get too warm?
Mario C  a 7.5mm in 70 degree water would feel hot to most people in most dives, and yes, letting water in is a good way to manage it.
Melissa A  5 foot 140 pounds at the moment  normal weight is 120. What size do I need that would work now and still work at 120 ?
DAVID N  I’m 5’9” 190 lbs. started L and went to a XL short. They seem to run a bit small, my wife had to go up a size too. A L or L short might fit you. LP is great with exchanges so no problem if you don’t get it right first time. They’re great suits, worth the time to get a good fit/exchange if needed. Our dry suits don’t get used much any more.
DARLENE H  Definitely not a large. Smaller, possibly a small.
Melissa A  Sorry just seen it was on the men's not womens and dont know how to delete the question
Shopper  does this suit come with the matching hood?
LACY C  Unfortunately, no.
TREVOR T  No, only the 6.5 mm does. I bought a drysuit hood to go with mine.
Greg S  No hood is included. I am totally fine with that, as I like my own hoods. The suit is still awesome.
RONALD W  No this suit does not come with the hood. The older version did but this one doesn’t.
BRIAN L  No....it does not
KEVIN K  The old version did, however the new one does not come with a hood. They do have a matching hood you just have to purchase it separate. This has been the best wetsuit I have ever had. I like it so much I purchased a second one to have as a back up. All the instructors I dive with are all buying them as well.
DEITRICH N  Yes and no. Yes, if you pay $60 for it. No if you just purchase the wetsuit. The previous model had a hood that was part of the deal. Not so much with this one.
Maxim C  I am 5'11", 184 lbs, 44" chest, 39 waist. Want to wear lavaskin full suit under. What size will you recommend?
TREVOR T  I would guess a large, just make sure the seals at your hands and feet are tight. The neck will be plenty tight either way. If you wear the suit under the Scotia, it might cause the seals to leak.
