About Scubapro Nova Scotia Steamer 6.5mm Men's Wetsuit, Black

The semi-dry concept brings you many of the advantages of wetsuits and dry suits in a sleek and comfortable package, to give you the best of both worlds. Nova Scotia suits are made of 6mm EverFlex neoprene making it extremely comfortable and easy to put on. A low profile suit with good seal and cold protection eliminates the need for bulky undergarments. Nova Scotia provides minimal water entry and maximum flexibility in challenging diving conditions.

This newly designed model incorporates a new dry zipper. The T-Zip Master Seal provides an even better dry seal against cold water entry and offers a lot more comfort and freedom of movement. This new zipper is made from high-strength fabric, coated with thermoplastic polyurethane. The extra-strong plastic teeth keep the water sealing edges tight together when the zipper is closed. The TIZIP Master Seal slider is made from a saltwater-resistant metal compound, making it resilient to corrosion. The slider movement is contact-free, meaning it does not rub on the zipper tape or sealing edge, causing less wear and tear.

The new right leg pocket has an exterior hood hook and a large interior D-ring for total convenience. The anti-abrasion material on both the shoulders and seat area makes Nova Scotia super durable where you need it. Scuba Pro has also added heliospan lining in the torso area of the Nova Scotia, for added protection and insulation. Scubapro's EverFlex is produced with X-Foam Nylon II Neoprene an exclusive Scubapro formula. X-Foam is the only formula which complies with very strict P.A.H. test requirements. P.A.H. (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) is found in many things, including petroleum-based products. Scubapro is very encouraged to be able to offer this neoprene blend in order to.

Built-to-Last with Power Tex abrasion resistant shoulders and seat along with durable TATEX kneepads a thermoplastic rubber (TPR) that is applied without glue or stitching. Suit has safe-straps on both arms for a securing of wrist instruments such as dive computers, depth gauges or compass. The wrist and ankles of the suit are equipped with double Glide-Skin seals an advanced insulation concept for minimum water infusion using ultra smooth non-porous neoprene with great sealing capacity. The new Nova Scotia now comes with a removable hood. Suit is available in multiple sizes, black in color and is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.

Comments about Scubapro Nova Scotia Steamer 6.5mm Men's Wetsuit, Black:

Used my Scubapro Nova Scotia 6.5mm in 64F water temperature on my recent dive. Extremely pleased with my purchase thus far. The suit was very comfortable, warm and a pleasure to wear, plus it looks good.
The suit was very easy to don and the zipper was smooth as my dive buddy zipped me in.
I experienced some minimal water penetration through the neck seal from time to time but I put this down to my eagerness to investigate my surroundings, rather than the suit.
The pocket on the suit is a nice feature with ample room for accessories, which also contains a D-ring inside and an exterior hook for the hood that comes with the suit.
The sizing chart for this suit is very accurate, watch for the chest size as this is very important in getting a proper fit in my opinion.

Comments about Scubapro Nova Scotia Steamer 6.5mm Men's Wetsuit, Black:

I expected the product size to run a little small, based on experience with other ScubaPro wetsuits, but found that the size chart was spot on. I fell into the middle of the "large" sizing and am 6'0" and 185lbs.

I have found the seals to work great, generally keeping me very warm and dry. Some water seems to work its way around the ankles, but no significant leakage around the wrists or neck. Another nice feature is the inside lining, which made donning and doffing the thick wetsuit much easier. The zipper is great - drysuit quality - with the only issue that your buddy will need to zip you up. I cannot see any way that one could zip it by themself. The exterior leg pocket is roomy, and capable of carrying an SMB, reel, or small camera, etc and allows easy access.

I have only used the wetsuit down to 68F, but feel that the exposure protection would be suitable at least into the low 60s. I purchased this as an economical alternative to a drysuit, as I don't dive extreme cold water and only dive colder water a few times a year.

Comments about Scubapro Nova Scotia Steamer 6.5mm Men's Wetsuit, Black:

I've dived with this suit about 10 times. The suit is really well built. I am 190# and 6' and I tried a L and XL before settling on the XL. The Large was too small by a long shot. I couldn't get my legs into the suit. Leisurepro's return policy was great for this: I order both suits and returned the one that didn't fit. The chest fells a little tight.

This suit is really easy to don and doff but the zipper requires a buddy. The lining materialls slips over my skin easily. Donning is significantly harder when the lining is wet. I've read that some can get the zipper open by themselves; I can't. I roll the collar in and it keeps the suit pretty much water tight. So much so that it can lead to squeezing. Not sure if I haven't figured out how to 'burp' the suit, but my last dive to 85ft left a welt on my skin along the zipper line.

I dove with this suit at 50F for 26 min and the cold was not a problem. This is all the more remarkable given that I am very cold intolerant.

Juha M  Hi. I'm height 6'1", weight 232 lbs, shoulders 21", chest 44", hips 40", waist 39". Which size do you recommend?
nathan l  I Would recommend an extra large. Im 5 9 and im 190. I bought the large and it fits tight. It needs to be tight or it wont do its job properly. I love mine and it works great. Also if you go to the scuba pro websight itwill give you a size chart you can look at that will give you an idea
Jeremy H  I am 6'4, 230 lbs with 38 waist - according to the size chart I am a 3XL. Do you think a 3XL will fit or should I be looking at another brand/model?
Sheila H  My husband is 6', 240 and 38 waist. He got the 2XL and it fits him. I don't know if the height difference may push you to the next size up.
Jeremy H  Thanks! Ordered the 3XL but the river outside my window is still frozen over. Cozumel next week with my shorty!
Shopper  Hi and thanks for the help .... I'm at 6´1 and down to 155 lbs but doing my best to stay around 160 ... lost 25 lbs and wont come back .... So what would fit me now ? Thanks
GREG S  Large. The Medium Tall will be too short and possibly too tight. I am 6' 165lb and couldn't get the MT on at all.
