About Scubapro Mark 2 Plus

Classic downstream piston- The Mark 2 Plus is the best example of bulletproof reliability and trouble-free, minimum maintenance regulators. The classic downstream piston configuration is the simplest mechanism that exists to control the pressure drop from a tank to feed the second stage. The classic downstream valve is the first choice of diving centers and rental facilities worldwide for warm and moderate water temperatures. Classic downstream valves are particularly noted for their legendary safety and reliability. When in use, the downstream valve opens in the same direction as the incoming air flow. To close the valve and stop the air flow, a spring counteracts the force of the incoming air. Therefore, a certain inhalation effort is always required to overcome the spring tension and open the valve.

This first stage epitomizes reliability and simplicity. Its standard Flow-By Piston design is ideal for divers who don't want to get bogged down with an overwhelming amount of bits and pieces, but still want the peace of mind that comes with a sound piece of equipment. This first stage is equipped with SCUBAPRO's Thermal Insulating System (TIS), which will keep your first stage functioning properly, even in frigid water. The MK2 has one high-pressure port and four low-pressure ports. The first stage body is manufactured from marine-grade chrome plated brass, weighs 17.1 oz (485 g) and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Regulator does not include Low Pressure Hose.

Questions about this item:

Alex G  Will it accommodate wireless uwateck transmitter (Luna, Sol) alone with regulator hose setup without adapter? If not. Is a 6in hp floating hose is the only option? Thanks
JACQUES G  I do not know. I use mine for dry suit inflation and not for breathing...
Shopper  The description states this 1st stage has the TIS 'thermal insulating system' for cold water use. So it must be good for cold water diving, Yes?
BARAK B  Not Sure, I only used it in the Red Sea (Sub Tropical) Google "scubapro mk2 cold water" and look at Scubabaord answer… I would say depends on how cold the water is
Frank L  Its better than not having it, but I still do not recommend this reg for water colder than 50 degrees. The best solution for cold water is a reg with an environmental seal, which this does not have.
Shopper  Can I use this regulator in water 50 degrees or less?
Frank L  NOT recommended for cold water. You should be looking for a balanced diaphragm, or an environmentally sealed first stage for cold water.
JACQUES G  I use mine to fill my dry suit with air for any water temperature...
