About Scubapro MK25/G260

The Scuba Pro MK25/G260 Regulator, SCUBAPRO has been the leader in the evolution of piston controlled first stages since its beginning; the MK25 carries on this heritage with an array of patented features ensuring unfailing performance. The MK25 is a balanced piston first stage, SCUBAPRO's absolute top performer. It is a superior regulator thanks to its ultra stable intermediate pressure resulting in an extremely punctual and constantly high delivery of air. This means instant airflow at any tank pressure and water temperature for a real carefree dive.

Air balanced flow-through piston- First stages with air balanced pistons deliver significantly more air to the second stage than any other first stage, while their performance is totally unaffected by the changing tank pressure. A balanced piston allows the use of lighter and more sensitive components, resulting in ultra fast breathing response, instant delivery of air on demand, and extra high air flow, especially in low tank pressure ranges. The tired diver benefits from a smoother breathing regulator during the ascent or deco stop. Balanced piston first stages are the first choice of demanding sport divers and professionals. A balanced piston performs equally in warm and cold water environments.

The MK25 has two opposite high pressure ports- The arrangement of high and low pressure hoses is crucial to diving comfort. Two opposite high pressure ports allow for an individual positioning of the first stage (pointing up or down). This allows the diver to position the gauges either on the right or left side and increases the freedom of movement for head and neck. Multiple low pressure ports- For ultimate freedom in the arrangement of low pressure hoses, the MK25 accommodates five HF (high flow) ports on a swiveling turret, which allows for 360 degree swivel of hoses. High flow ports deliver about 15% more air than conventional ports. Externally adjustable intermediate pressure- Allows authorized SCUBAPRO service technicians to quickly fine-tune and adjusts the first stage after maintenance without the need to disassemble it.

Cold Water Diving with SCUBAPRO-Diving conditions can be drastically different, including extreme cold water and outside temperatures, posing the possibility of a regulator "freezing". Therefore, resistance to freezing is imperative for the diver. All SCUBAPRO regulator systems are CE approved for 4300psi (300 bars) cold water diving. Some models go even beyond this super stringent qualification and have successfully been tested in extreme cold diving conditions at less than 36°F (2.2°C). As a specific anti-freezing measure, SCUBAPRO engineers have designed a patented finned cap for the MK25 first stages for optimal cold water diving. This finned cap is a Thermal Insulating System (TIS).The ribs of the TIS act as a radiator to increase the surface area of heat transfer from the water to warm up the internal parts that have been drastically cooled down by the gas pressure drop. The MK25 is manufactured from Marine-Grade Chrome Plated Brass. The MK25 First Stage offers a Machined, Marine-Grade Gold Chrome Plated Body and Balanced Composite/Stainless Steel Flow-Thru Piston that would make any diver proud. It demonstrates SCUBAPRO's dedication to quality and creating positive diving experiences.

The G260 is a new Balanced Adjustable Second Stage featuring Metal Components for Excellent Cold Water Resistance (inlet tube, orifice, inhalation control knob and hose connector). Its High Performance makes it a choice for all Demanding Divers and it will be the natural choice for G250 fans. The new Left-Right Hose Attachment Option makes it ideally suited for Tech Diving Configurations. The G260 Air Balanced Flow Valve is made from Durable Corrosion Resistant Chrome Plated Brass. The Regulator has a Diver Adjustable Inhalation Effort that allows Personalized Breathing Control and a Venturi Initiated Vacuum Assist (VIVA) to prevents Free Flow in Cold Water or when used as an Octopus.

The G260 is equipped with a High Flow Exhaust Valve that Reduces Exhalation Effort for better Breathing Comfort. Regulator also has a High Comfort Orthodontic Mouthpiece. The Regulator comes equipped with a 3/8" Threaded Super-Flow Hose for Smooth Air Delivery. Precision Molded, Lightweight Components and Anti-Freeze Materials provide High Corrosion Resistance and Enhance Cold Water Performance. The Second Stage is equipped with a Comfortable Orthodontic Mouthpiece. All these features produce the Highest Performance in any Conditions. The Regulator weighs 38.8 oz (1,100 g), comes with an Owner's Manual and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  is this regulator nitrox/inriched air compatible ?
THOMAS O  definitely yes.
MARK C  I just used the MK25/G260 on ~70 dives during early June, about 2/3 of which were on 32-33% Nitrox. No problems. I also have G250 regulators that I used on over 3,000 dives on both air and EAN. No problems whatsoever.
Boyd C  What are the significant differences between my MK25/G250V and this updated MK25/G260 in terms of performance?
Frank L  The second stage has had a major overhaul and redesign. Mostly cosmetic, but it also is smaller and lighter than the original.
