About Scubapro MK11/C200 Regulator White, Yoke

New for 2011, and a Sport Diver Magazine Editor's Pick, our compact C200 Systemoffers great breathing performance for avid recreational divers. The C300 secondstage is lightweight and features an anti-scratch cover.

The new MK11 is more compact and lightweight without affecting reliability or performance.

Two opposite high pressure ports- The arrangement of high and low pressure hoses is crucial to diving comfort. Two opposite high pressure ports allow for an individual positioning of the first stage (pointing up or down). This allows the diver to position the gauges either on the right or left side and increases the freedom of movement for head and neck.

Multiple low pressure ports. For ultimate freedom in the arrangement of low pressure hoses, the MK25 accommodates five HF (high flow) ports on a swiveling turret, which allows for 360 degree swivel of hoses. The MK17 and MK11 feature four stationary low pressure ports, two of them HF. High flow ports deliver about 15% more air than conventional ports.

C200

The Optimal Flow Design valve (OFD) for reliable and high air flow, due to the incorporation of new technology which improves work of breathing performance compared to a classic downstream valve second stage. Comments about Scubapro MK11/C200 Regulator White, Yoke:

Love the looks of this reg, but noticed some funny shortcomings after a few dives in Hawaii. At 40 feet, tried to look directly up at a sea turtle on the surface. Breathing became severely restricted. Tried rotating onto my back to look straight at the surface and same severely restricted air. Also noticed that it breathes night-and-day different depending on breathing at surface or not. At surface, fairly difficult; I've got to work at getting that air into my lungs, even on the most generous flow setting. Under water at any depth, it breathes ok...unless you're looking up! It free flows fairly easy at the surface, too, but that's a quick remedy with a finger to block the mouth piece. Just have to be mindful to flood it slowly whenever possible. Lastly, bought online and reviews suggested the mouthpiece might be a problem for my petite size. Bought a silicone mouthpiece to heat and shape/trim. After the first dive and an achy jaw, swapped the mouthpiece and have loved the fit ever since. Bottom line, this reg is "ok" for the money.

Comments about Scubapro MK11/C200 Regulator White, Yoke:

I had to get it adjusted almost right out of the box. I wasted a whole bottle cause it kept freeflowing. After it was fix i have had no problem's. Works fine from 10 ft to 120 ft. 25 dives with no more problems.

Comments about Scubapro MK11/C200 Regulator White, Yoke:

I bought two of these when they were on sale and got a good deal on them. I used it for 18+ dives in Bonaire at depths from 20ft-100ft and had no problems. It isn't the easiest regulator to breathe but does very well for the price range. There was a little bit of jaw fatigue after the 3rd or 4th dive every day. It is a good first regulator for anyone.

Comments about Scubapro MK11/C200 Regulator White, Yoke:

        Pros:
        - Breathes very easy.
        - Second stage is very light, and is quite comfortable. The mouthpiece is big, but sits in my mouth well and has a better seal than my older regulator.

        Cons:
        - Take note of the HP port layout when setting up your rig. On my first dive with the Mk11, I kept banging my head on the HP hose post. The water was surge-y so I was all beat up by the end of the dive.
Overall: I'm very happy with my Mk11 so far. It's basically a Mk17 without the cold environment kit. Both stages are white, which kinda adds character, as I've not really seen another reg like that. My only complaint was the location of the HP ports, but some adjustments in how I place my tank on my BC solved the issue. 4/5 stars. Barring any issues on subsequent dives, I'd gladly recommend it as a good value balanced rig at the closeout price (it's the 2012 model; the 2013 model replaces the C200 with the adjustable C300 second stage).

        Questions about this item:

Rich C  Does the MK11, C200 have a swiveling turret suggested in the MK25?
DEBORAH A  Nope.. All points are fixed, but has hp ports on both sides.. The placement of the hp and lp ports can get a bit awkward between the lpi and spg, but only in an aesthetic way, since theyre just about even so one hose necessarily crosses the other.. Doesn't affect comfort in the slightest.. Solid reg.. I have put around 150 dives on it since April and no complaints yet..
