Excellent Product

By SCOTT C.

Excellent product. Purchased this for my wife. The ScubaPro quality speaks for itself. All of the ScubaPro back inflation BC are a little short on pockets, but lots of places to clip gear or bottles. The BC arrived in 4 days from the order date. Made me wish I had purchased more gear from Leisure Pro in the past.

Great BC

By MIKE S.

I bought this for my wife and she just got certified and once she understood how to use a "wing" style BC on the surface, she was totally sold on the product. This BC is very streamlined with great features that are beneficial to the user. The weight pockets are soooo easy to use and the unit is very comfortable. From the tank strap to the adjustability of the shoulder straps, this design is high quality.

This superior women's BC teams all the technical features you need in a back flotation jacket yet with a female-specific cut and design. This back flotation jacket is thoughtfully tailored to enhance the female diver's experience and represents a new dimension in optimized load distribution, freedom of movement and comfort. A robust and comfortable back flotation jacket that integrates numerous performance features to deliver outstanding comfort and easy handling. The Ladyhawk's retractable air bladder offers ultimate streamlining and significantly reduces drag. The Ladyhawk is equipped with Scubapro's Balanced Power Inflator, has two rollup zippered pockets, Four Stainless Steel D-rings for attachment of accessories, a sturdy Stainless Steel Tank Attachment System, and a comfortable neck roll of soft neoprene with a special foam back pad, making it the BCD of choice.

Back flotation technology positions air bladder in the back, providing exceptional freedom of movement around chest and shoulders. Streamlined air cell technology and automatic volume control of air cell through compression straps provide a low profile throughout the dive. Rotating Quick Release shoulder buckles and adjustable shoulder straps, adjustable sternum strap and waist strap with cummerbund all improve fit. All these straps are equipped with squeeze-style" quick release buckles for easy donning and doffing.

Soft neoprene neck roll and padded back pad provide skin-friendly padding. Firmly padded, flexible cummerbund compensates for changes in the suit resulting from varying depths. Ergonomic harness incorporates anatomically-shaped components to allow for even load distribution. Quick-release integrated weight system offers more comfort and convenience. Pouches accommodate 10lb (4.54kg) each and are secured in specially-designed pockets with oversized buckles. Two rear trim pockets counterbalance front weights and provide a well-balanced swimming position with 8lbs to 10lbs (3.6kg to 4.54kg) capacity depending on BCD size. Built-to-last from 1000-denier nylon outer bladder and 420-denier nylon inner, with urethane laminate interior and radio frequency (RF) welded seams for maximum resistance to punctures and abrasion.

For proper buoyancy control the Knighthawk BCD comes standard with Scubapro's Balanced Power Inflator and has a 3-dump deflation system that enables divers to dump air from a variety of underwater positions. In the up-right position you can use either the left-or-right shoulder pull-dumps with the right shoulder pull cord or the left shoulder integrated cable activated power inflator shoulder dump. When inverted in the water the lower left rear pull dump can facilitate buoyancy trim. Scubapro's Balanced Power Inflator provides a high inflation speed, especially at depth. Inflator has different shaped inflation and purge buttons for easy use even in extremely low light or murky water conditions. The BCD provides 33.7lbs (15.3kg) of lift. The Ladyhawk weighs from 7.2lbs to 8.13lbs (3.261kg to 3.68kg) which is also size dependent. BCD comes with a 3/8" threaded low pressure quick-disconnect hose, owner's manual and is black in color.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Ludy A  Im a 5’4 at 65kls, what size should i get? Im worried that if i gain weight like 2-3kls i wont be able to use the Small size based on the sizing chart
SUSAN G  I am 5’3, 118 lbs. and wear the XS and the fit is perfect. My weight has varied a pound or two with no problem. The waistband is just big enough, however I believe you can get an extension. I would say take into consideration what size wetsuit you are wearing as well. Hope this helps you a bit.
Shopper  Can you use a cummerbund extender with this model?
Mario C  yes you can
YINGBO W  Does this BCD have an octo pocket or a thread through pocket to manage dangling hoses?
BARB L  No it doesn’t have a pocket or thread through. I use an air2 so it’s not an issue for me. It is very customizable and pockets can easily be added. Of note, this is my second Ladyhawk, I loved my first one however the new bladder design takes some getting used to. It is a bit difficult to release air and takes some rolling around to release it. I have just been to Wakatobi where all of us, with this new Ladyhawk/Nighthawk had the same issue
KRISTINE G  Not on the one I bought last year
TARA B  No, just the D ring below the pocket. The pocket is actually zipped inside below the weight pocket. I never use it as it hangs too low for me to easily use it.
Linda G  I use the Scubapro Air 2, which is a combination second stage regulator and BCD inflator in a single unit. This reduces the hoses from 4 to 3. For me, it is also a training simplification because I am much more aware of my backup air source position because it is the same as my BCD inflator, which I use frequently on every dive. So, in an emergency, I am already trained on exactly where to reach. For my diving frequency ( 4 to 5 times a year), the extra expense of the Air 2 is worth the comfort of knowing the exact location of my backup air. In a buddy breathe emergency, I give my buddy my primary and breathe on the air 2 because the Air 2 hose is much shorter than my primary. For all of my “dangling” items, I use spring retractors to keep them close and so that I know exactly where to reach to find them.
maria c  I'm 5'1 and 107 Pounds and currently using a XXS Scuba Pro Pilot, which size should I buy?
B C  XS size
Curtis A  My doughter has to were a medium scubapro wet suit, what size bcd should she were?
MILT R  I bought same size Ladyhawk as girlfriend wears in her clothing jacket. It works perfect, lots of strap length to accomodate tropical or cold water wetsuit thicknesses. Base it on her clothing jacket sizing and you'll be good for the back inflate Ladyhawk.
ALEK C  I assume it would be a medium. My wife has a small frame, 5'2" & 115 lbs. She has a extra-small Ladyhawk BC, and it fit her nicely.
GEORGE M  There are a lot of factors that come into play besides wetsuit size (shoulder, chest breadth etc.) . But I would think a medium would fit her fine.
