Scubapro BC Size

By Rick d.

I don't won't to lead anyone wrong on size. I did a review earlier on the GO BC when I got it and stated the size chart was big well I would like to change that. I was wearing a dive shirt when I tryed on the BC but after putting on my 3 mm wetsuit I decided to get the Extra Large BC. I'm 6'3" and weigh 250. I hope this saves someone from the hassle of an exchange.

Great traveler

Adam's review is complete, accurate and says it all. I will add that the way this BC folds up into its own bag is just fantastic. In fact I am going 5 stars because to me that outweighs the pocket issues. I think small pockets are to be expected in a travel BC. I also got the AirII and love it.

Balanced Power Inflator

Go dive the world. That's our message with this true travel BC. Lightweight, easy to pack and extremely comfortable, it includes an integrated weight system and other original features, as well as Scubapro quality, style and spirit of adventure. The large size weighs less than 6 lbs. (2.7 kg). The Scubapro Go BCD has a single-air cell that provides high buoyancy and maximum comfort for travel divers. The Go BC has 22.5 lbs. (10.2 kg) of lift on the X-Small size and 42.7 lbs. (19.4 kg) on the X-Large. Made from light and resistant 210 Denier Nylon material covered in polyurethane makes the Go BC tuff, yet lightweight for travel. Packing your BC for your next adventure is made easy with the Go's foldable Airnet backpack that is lightweight and soft, without rigid elements. The entire BC can be easily folded, secured with a dedicated buckle and stored in its own travel sack.

Scubapro's quick-release integrated weight system allows perfect buoyancy and fast weight release in the event of an emergency. High profiles, easy to access zippered pockets are reinforced with strong mesh for long wear and quick drying. BC is equipped with double tank straps that provides extremely good balance in any position and reduces pressure on your back. Great lightweight rotating shoulder strap buckles add comfort and fit. Accessory attachment is made easy with the large size aluminum D-rings placed right where you need them. BC has side grommets for Scubapro knife attachment. There is also an Octopus Holder for easy access in an emergency out-of-air situation. Multiple pull dumps on shoulders and lower rear makes releasing air fast and easy. Depth-compensating cummerbund with quick release waist strap gives a stable and comfortable feel with any exposure suit. BC has an adjustable sternum strap.

Buoyancy control is facilitated with the Scubapro Balanced Inflator mechanism, right shoulder and left bottom overpressure relief/dump valves with pull cords. Scubapro's Balanced Power Inflator provides a high inflation speed, especially at depth. Inflator has different shaped inflation and purge buttons for easy use even in extremely low light or murky water conditions. Inflator is also equipped with a rapid pull dump mechanism with cable pull for easy deflation of the air bladder. Included with the inflator is a 3/8" threaded low-pressure hose for attachment to the first stage regulator. The Go BCD comes with an owner's manual and is available in multiple sizes.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

SCOTT C  I am 6'1" and 220LBs with a 38" waist.  Is an XL to big for me?
darrick c  Hello Scott, no the size XL would fit you in this BCD.
Shopper  What does it weigh?
RAE W  The XL is 5.2 pounds, the S is 4.8 pounds.
CHARLES S  5.8 lbs with BPI or 6.3lbs with the integrated Air2(which is what I have). This BC is lightweight and compact, yet is super comfortable. Highly recommend.
NORMAN S  Light enough to fit into a backpack with regulator, mask and fins. Basically just add air, weights and water! My folding snorkel and signal buoy stays in the pockets and still does not bulk it up. Folding dive knife goes to check in luggsge with all other stuff. Great for travel. I go halfway around the world to dive and durability in a lightweight BCD should be everyone's top criteria.
ROBERT W  According to Leisure Pro a Large Size is less than 6lbs. Larger sizes will be more & smaller sizes a little less. The jacket is compact for travel & a good fit.
Gregory H  About 6 lbs. It also has a soft back and folds up into a nice travel bag.
BRIAN D  I am 6'1, 185 and lean, with a 32 inch waist. Should I go with the medium or large? I read this runs big.
ELIZABETH N  I would recommend the SMALL. I was 6' 185 lbs when I bought this and it fit great. I've since lost a bit of weight and it still fits fine. I believe even a medium would be too large for you.
Jeff R  What is a depth-compensating cummerbund?
Chris S  It has an elastic cummerbund around the waist so when you go to depth the cummerbund stays snug from where you set it at the surface and is not loose at depth.
Jeff R  Thanks Chris! That makes sense....
Douglas M  ScubaPro's "Balanced Power Inflator" is not what is shown in your product photos. Is your product photo wrong or is the description wrong? Also, I live in Florida; will you be charging me tax?
KEVIN F  The power inflator is in fact what is shown in the photos. That is what the previous design looked like- not to be confused with the inflator/Octo (Scubapro Air 2) http://www.leisurepro.com/p-scpa2gyr/scubapro-air-2-combination-octopus-inflator-regulator-black-gray The new power inflator design is changed slightly. No tax is charged for Florida shipments.
