When in doubt, go with smaller size

If you are debating between two sizes go with the smaller one. It must fit snugly, if it is at all loose it will ride up around your neck, and make you miserable! I went with a medium, I am a male 6'0"--175lbs.--34"waist--42"chest. I tried a friend's large, and it felt fine on land, but once in the water it was riding up around my face. When in doubt, go with the smaller size, you won't be sorry!

Great vest but needs modifications

Took this vest to St Johns for snorkeling. I am 6 feet tall, 225 lbs, and the XL size was almost a perfect fit for me. The vest did not cover my whole stomach though, just the top half. I would recommend that they make a longer version of this vest for tall people. You have the ability to inflate the vest a little for calm waters or inflate it a lot for rough waters. The vest material is very UV ray resistant to help keep you from getting sunburned on your back but I would recommend tha...

Size matters

from Raleigh, NC, US

The guide says that the size is based on waist measurement. Actually, you better measure your belly, too. Use whichever is larger. :-(

Quality vest

from East Falmouth, MA, US

Costly, but this is quality. I'm not a great swimmer, so I purchased the best I could afford. Remembers "life is priceless" As recommended "get a size smaller"

LeisurePro vest

from Modesto, CA, US

Love the vest. Comfortable. Gives protection from the sun and assurance that I can inflate at any time. I did add a croch strap.

Others tried it and liked it

The vest is light, easy to put on, was a good fit and worked well in the water every time

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Mark M  Looks and sounds like to best for your money.
Scott L  This vest is by far the most comfortable I have ever used. It's great.
ALLAN B  Its for my wife as she cannot swim but snorkels just as a way for her to feel more relaxed and safe.
Francis R C  I have done some research and this vest seemed to be the best on the market for snorklers who wants to have a piece of mind while in the water. Leisure Pro seemed to have the best price for this item.
WENDY D  Have ordered Leisure products in past. Very satisfied.
Mitchell R  I was looking for some added safety for a trip tp molokini crater in Maui. Didn't like the looks or fit of the standard horse collars. The insulation and sun protection were a bonus!
NEAL P  comfort, light weight
Patrick D  I have a scuba diving friend who pointed me to this website and then I chose this vest originally based on all the reviews that I read and then when I participated in a live chat with a ScubaPro representative it cemented the deal!
JERRY A  Great fit, keeps back warm after extended use, and is not bulky.
vicki k  My husband and I both own a scubapro cruiser vest. We have used them for the past five years on many snorkel trips to the Caribbean. We truly love them. I just bought a second vest because I have lost some weight and moved down to the small vest from my medium one. We love the vest because of the great visibility(brightYellow), buoyancy (one or two puffs of air)and quality of construction. They still look new. I would recommend them to everyone.
KATHY L  I purchased one of these years ago & it has been the best vest for both allowing me to focus on snorkeling instead of floating & for blocking the sun while snorkeling. I am purchasing another one for my daughter.
Patrick L  Great reviews, and a recommendation from a friend who also purchased one. Wife can't swim well, but I don't want that to ruin our trip to Grand Cayman.
LOIS H  I used one on a snorkeling trip and liked it, decided to buy one.
TIMOTHY S  I do not swim and I use this vest for snorkeling and love it
RHONDA R  This is a great fitting snorkel vest that fits snugly and doesnt ride up like the normal ones.
DAVID B  Comfort, freedom in the water.
CHERYL K  I love snorkeling in the Carribbeans, but hate to wear the local dive shop's vest (usually dirty and worn out). So I purchased the vest. I really glad that I have it, the vest is not only good looking but also help me float in the water for a long time.
AUDREY O  I chose this vest because it's fitted. Most standard life vests end up around my neck after a while and since I have asthma, I feel suffocated when standard life vests end up around my neck thus causing me to have an asthma attack. This vest prevents asthma attacks in my case.
RICHARD N  My wife is not nearly as comfortable in the water as I am......she does liek to snorkel with me to see som of what's in the water, so for her, it is a great confidence builder and off-loads some of my workload & concern for her safety when in the water with her.
BRUCE S  Brought for my wife and myself because it's the best vest there is for snorkeling.
BETH P  Great for snorkeling, not bulky, protects your back from sunburn and you can control how much air you want on the bladder.
Kat S  How do you inflate and deflate the vest?
LOUIS C  Sorry this is late but I was in remote Panama using the vest - it's great. Their instructions are correct - you inflate the vest by unscrewing the valve located at the top of the tube attached to the left upper side of the vest and breath into it to inflate. Squeeze the vest to push air out. Finish by screwing the valve tight. Just remember, the more air in the vest, the more difficult it is to dive especially in salt water. Also, I added a design feature to my vests so they won't ride up when you are vertical in the water - I attached a nylon strap from the bottom back to the front which has a plastic buckle to make it easy to get on and off. Anyway - it's a first class vest.
CHRISTOPHER T  Push the valve in and blow to inflate. Push the valve in to deflate. It's fairly difficult to do without hands, but easy to do with one hand.
TONY P  There is a black tube that has a spring mechanism that you open with your mouth and blow into to inflate and when you want to deflate the vest simply open that end of that inflation tube and the air will let out deflating the vest
Kat S  Thanks Tony; with these answers guiding me I have now figured it out. I really like the design of the silver threaded thing that will prevent the nozzle being accidentally depressed once I have put my chosen amount of air in it. I can also see this may be trickier to change once in the water!
JANET O  My husband and I both have this vest and we love it. It inflates and deflates extremely easily. The tube to inflate and deflate is near your face and you bend your head slightly, and blow or deflate. I believe the nozzle pumps slightly up and down to hold the air/release the air. Everywhere we snorkel people offer to buy our vests right off our backs, or are extremely impressed by the quality of this vest.
Kat S  Thank you; I am Australian and had to buy mine from America. I am using it for the first time tomorrow and fully expect many envious comments...! I appreciate your detailed help.
ERIC L  Screw the locknut on the tube down a few turns, hold down the spring-loaded washer just above it and blow into the tube.
Kat S  Thank you - and to everyone who replied. I am so looking forward to using this for the first time tomorrow ???
RUSSELL W  Oral inflate, great product for those who need it. Highly recommend if you have some one that is uncomfortable in the water.
Chris H  To inflate with your mouth and press on the mouth piece to deflate. Excellent quality.
Shopper  does this vest have a crotch strap?
WILLIAM R  No crotch strap.
JIM S  No and that is the beauty of this vest it does not need one. Very comfortable and does not ride up since it has a back which also aids in keeping you from getting cooked
JOHN S  No it doesn't
DONALD J  No it does not. I however had one sewn in by my shoe repair guy. I believe without one you will not be happy as it does tend to want to ride upward. My wife liked mine (with the added crotch strap) so much that we bought a second Scubapro Cruiser Vest and again had a crotch strap sewn in. Snap buckles and webbing can be purchased at any sportsman store.
WILLIAM G  It does not have a crotch strap.... plan on getting at least one size smaller. It really loosens up when it gets wet.
SHARON L  No, it does not. Don't need one. They are form fitting.
