i'm considering buying this vest by spring for snorkeling but i've not decided on this scubamax vest, the scubapro vest or the leisurepro vest... my concern is that i want to make sure that either model will allow me to fully descend into deeper water if i open the purge valve and expel all the air? --i'd hate to be fighting the vest to dive deeper... thanx.
I bought the ScubaMax vest and my son used it extensively for a snorkel trip. If you expel all the air, there is nothing that will keep you buoyant so you should be fine to dive. It might be a bit difficult to get every bit of air out while swimming since the air bladder is around the entire vest. It's easier to take it off and fold the vest to compress the air and vent. For what its worth, it is a good vest, but a bit pricey. Happy travels!
Hi Uvaldo, I purchased the Scuba Pro Cruiser vest but the sizes were either too large or too small for me. I did hear that they ride up a lot.
I returned it for the Scuba Max Vest but when I went to use it, the boat tour required the use of their vests, which had an emergency cord attached to a compressed can of air. Sorry I couldn't be of much help. Good luck with your purchase.
We bought two, for family members to snorkel in Akumal last month. They were comfortable and worked great for all ages and sizes, but no-one tried diving. Don't see why it wouldn't work though.
