Is this bag padded to protect my Reg? If so, how padded is it?
Thank you for this information. Is the padding on top and bottom and perhaps sides of bag?
Hi Melanie-- There is some padding with this Sub Gear Regulator Bag, but not excessively so! My husband & i have just returned from diving in the Caribbean, in St. Kitts and Saba. We were on a dive liveaboard, which makes it very easy to know where your equipment is located. My main concern about all my dive gear was to find a regulator bag that would fit nicely in my lightweight dive bag. Some airlines are charging a lot of $ for claiming more than one bag in baggage. I had two carry on bags and one bag, my dive bag, for baggage. Everything had to fit in that dive bag and weigh less than 50 lbs.! This Sub Gear Regulator Bag worked well for me and still protected my regulator and held a few accessories as well.
However, the zippers slip a bit, but that can easily be corrected. I returned another company's reg bag because it didn't work with my set up. I hope that this info will help you in deciding your next reg bag!
Not very much. There is a thin layer (less than 1/2 inch) of padding on the top. That's about it.
Yes 1/2" of padding i feel it works well and protects reg it has smaller computer bag inside defiantly would recommend
Padded enough that its not bulky without comprising the safety of you regulator. I used it when i trveled abroad , where in baggages are tossed from time to time during transfers
This bag is padded and will fit. 1 gage counsel, 1st stage, reg & back up reg. it comes with a small padded bag inside that works for your wrist computer. It also has a clear zipped sleeve inside for your dive log. I feel it works well for travel and protects you gear.
Padding is thin but adequate, as long as you don't throw it around too much. I had to figure out how to fit my reg in it, it was a little tricky. From the review I have read others have had the same issue. For the money it works pretty well. Hope this helped.
There is not much padding. It is great for protecting from nicks and scratches. The bag is a little small and can pinch hoses. I bought a akona reg bag a and like it much better
Yes, I think the bag has sufficient padding. It holds a lot for a reg bag and has nice little pockets for cards and papers
