These lights are a great deal for what you get. My husband and I have been diving for almost 20 years and this sure beats the big, heavy, bulky lights that would use to need to get the brightness required. I would recommend this product without hesitation.

Used this light for the first time last week. Fresh out of the packaging. Worked fine until flooding @ 65'. Once dive completed, fresh water rinse and moisture guard spray did not halt the corrosion. Although lights of this size are great backups, reliability should be a key criteria in selecting which type to get.

Comments about Princeton Tec, Tec-40 Flashlight:

Decent little halogen light, but it flooded and got ruined during first week of fairly simple dives in Coz. Glad others have liked it, but I can't recommend it.

This light worked well as a backup light for some night dives. The beam is too weak for a good daytime light in clear tropical waters on a sunny day.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

      Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
PETER M  Inexpensive backup light, or compact light to carry on any dive (you never know what you will find in those little nooks and crannies!).
L B  Can the overmold handle be removed?
DARREL P  The overmold isn't designed for removal, but like anything that's an overmold, with enough effort I'm sure it could. My question would be why, as in the water it's the perfect grip. Last thing you want on a cenote or night dive, to lose your grip on the light.
L B  I'm not a diver but have an older Tec 40 without the overmold. I was hoping to get another just like it but it looks like it has been discontinued and only overmold models are now sold.
Ted S  need a light for general reef diving, etc. in Belize first week of June. Is this good for crevice lighting, etc.?
JOSHUA H  It's better than nothing, but wouldn't count on it lasting very long. Not very bright, either.. It is small and fits in a BC pocket well, though.
