About Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light

DIVE PINK & FIGHT BREST CANCER! For every Pink light sold $20 will be donated to fight breast cancer.

Shockwave LED

Triple Max-Bright LED's combined with Princeton Tec's proprietary optics offer unprecedented brightness and beam smoothness. 400 Lumens of pure brute power is offered with two modes of illumination; high for super bright and low for extended battery life. The light output is calibrated for both close range tasks and spotting at a distance. The Shockwave LED is engineered to be impact resistant and waterproof to 330' (100 meters).

Light has 3 Max-Bright 3-Watt LED's that give 16 Hours of Burn Time on the High Power Setting and 26 Hours on Low. Light is equipped with LED Optical Collimator. A collimator gathers all available light from an LED in the form of scattered rays and re-emits the light as parallel rays, making it more optically efficient than a standard reflector. Princeton Tec calibrates each collimator to the type of LED and application of each light. With proprietary optimized collimator / lens systems, Princeton Tec continues to advance LED technology.

Princeton Tec has developed proprietary ultra-light heat-sinks to protect LED products from overheating. Even though LEDs operate at much lower temperatures than traditional incandescent bulbs, they still generate heat. If this heat is not dissipated, the LED will suffer irreversible damage. By using heat-sinks, Princeton Tec lights can burn at extreme brightness levels for long periods of time. The heat-sink may be incorporated internally or externally depending on the product and its application.

Powered by 8 C-Cell Alkaline Batteries (included), LED Life of 10,000 Hours and weighing 37.92 oz (1,075 g) with batteries, all make this one great dive light. Light is equipped with a Pistol Grip Handle with an Adjustable Rubber Shrouded Wrist Lanyard.

The Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light is commonly used for Cave Diving, Close-Up Viewing, Night Diving, Professional, Recreational, Safety Backup and more. The Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light is most used by customers who consider themselves to be a Advanced, Beginner, Casual/ Recreational among others. I had to share an amazing moment my dive buddy and I experienced this past 6 days. I've always heard people clam about the Shockwave LED light by Princeton Tech so I couldn't wait to try my brand new one out on a dive. I took it down for the first time under 120 feet of dark, cloudy and chilly long island sound water. The light worked great on that dive but it was how the light performed afterwards that leads me to my post.

The light must have snagged on something as I came out of the water and into the dive boat because when I settled back on the boat i realized my light was no longer hanging from my BC. The strap had broken and my light was now somewhere 120+feet below the rocking boat in a dark cold wreck. As a I mulled over the loss my brand new light my dive buddy encourages a search and rescue mission. Problem was, the day was over and it was time to head home.

6 days later we get on the boat and head over the the wreck site where my light had sunk. Sure as day not only did we find the light within 10 feet of where we had suspected it to be, but THE LIGHT WAS STILL SHINNING. 6 DAYS LATER. 121 FEET DOWN. The advertised torch time is only 26 hours. It was down there and on for 144 hours. The light still looked and functioned brand new. There was no water in the battery compartment either.

Princeton Tec, I now know why they say you guys make a serious light. Duracel, I was always a believer.

This light has serious design and reliability flaws. Before entering the water for my first dive with this light it stopped working on the high setting. I sent it in for repair when I got back. Princeton Tec returned it 6 weeks later. I'm leaveing for a trip next week so I put batteries in it to check it out- it worked for 5 seconds and 2 of the 3 LEDs flickered and went out. Buy another brand - I just did

Great light, lots of light for a long time. Switch not the easiest to operate. Relative heavy in the 8 battery size, if you don't all the run time get the 4 battery size.

Comments about Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light:

The light does not turn on easily. Takes two hands to manipulate the switch because of poor design. Light is fine once it is turned on.

Comments about Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light:

I always take at least 2 lights with me on almost every dive. This is my primary light and I will carry a small back up light. This light has never failed me and I never had to use a backup light.

Comments about Princeton Tec, NEW 400 Lumens Shockwave LED Dive Light:

I own two of these and for the price you just can't beat it. You do have to handle them with kid gloves for it is plastic and can break.
The only real problem I ever had with these light's was with the switch lock. Very poor design but Princeton Tec was quick to send replacement parts to me right away.
    Overall good light.
