Bought this case for a dive vacation in the Caymans. I have used pelican cases in the military, and I can assure you that your gear is secure from the rigors of travel in a pelican case. The only drawback is that they are heavy. I was able to pack a BCD, reg, fins, mask, wetsuit booties and dive light and the combined weight was under the 50 lbs that the airlines require. I did not take any weights. This is my third pelican, and would not buy any other case. Virtually bulletproof.
Tough box to protect your gear

The case is a good choice for taking along your gear. I have been a Pelican fan for years since I transport quote a lot of video equipment in these cases.
YOur dinig gear (which is expensive) must be protected, specially by the unconsidered handling of lugage in air terminals. Pelican cases are a bit pricier than other dive gear bags but the additional protection is worth the price.
I also purchased a set of pelilocks whic on my first trip were easily bent by tsa personnel. So due to regul...ation dont bother with this customs locks. Lock the case with large sturdy TSA compliant locks. Dive gear is always checked becasue by TSA personnel, so you gear bag will always be opened by them.

Why Did You Choose This?

Camera gear storage and air travel. Very sturdy and does the job. However, a bit heavy and the 20lbs bag weight gives you less gear storage for the 50lb air bag limit.
