The best hood I have owned. Spent 2 hours in 60 deg. water removing docks with 50 deg. outside Temp. And 15 knot north Wind No water in and great fit.
Pinnacle's 7mm Hood is constructed to keep a diver's head warm and comfortable while diving in very cold waters. Hood is constructed from 7mm titanium lined neoprene throughout the hood and neck areas, has a large bib that tucks into wetsuit for a better seal and greater warmth, smooth-skin outer surface on bib creates seal against wetsuit, keeping water out, and 3mm face seal with smooth-skin seal. The face seal can be trimmed to any desired size; automatic vents allow air to escape as necessary from the top of the hood while restricting water to re-enter. Hood is equipped with reflective rear pattern for instant recognition and safety. Hood is available in multiple sizes.

I have the 7 mm pinnacle hood in a small. I know you can trim the face hole to fit. Where should the good hit your face? How do I know of I need to trim it? What is the best tool to use to trim it?
WILLIAM S
Hey Amanda
You want reall good protection round your face particular if you are doing winter diving. If your mask skirt in landing on top of your hood around your face, you may want to put your hood on then fix your mask to your face and place the hood edge over the top of your mask. On your descent you need to lift the edge of the hood round your face so that the water & pressure get access to your ear so your can equalize otherwise you do risk a barotrauma. In addition this removes any air under the hood that can make this hood floatly.
if you need any more information you can email me offline at billsaunderson@hotmail
Have some great safe diving!

Put your mask on, you can even pop your snorkel in your mouth while you're at it -- if the hood is getting in the way and bugs you, then trim. I just tuck the hood over the edge of my mask seal and I never trimmed.

I have one, but I dud not have to trim anywhere, although if you need to, I'd use a very sharp razor blade to trim.
You can always trim more, but cannot add it back!

Put on your favorite mask, see where it's edges are (you can use a make up pencil) . Then put on your hood and mark any overlap spots and trim. But only if it's really bothering you or moving your mask.
Have Fun!

Zeagle/Pinnacle has a size chart on their website or use LeisurePro's size charts.

I'm not sure I can really help as I don't have a dry suit. I am female, x-small and petite. The women's x-small wetsuit was a little too big for me, so I am using a boys x-large 7 mm wetsuit. However, the size small hood fits my head and so that's what I am using.

this is not the right hood for a dry suit. You want one with no bib. If you buy a suit with an attached hood its a guess. I take an x or 2x hood and I'm 5' 11" 190 lbs.
HELEN J
Has to do with size of your head which is not related to size of your wetsuit (I wear an XS wetsuit and weigh around 100 lbs). I have a pretty big head (like some baseball caps aren't deep/big enough for me) and I wear a Med/Large for this hood. I have thick, long hair so when it gets wet and messy and in a big ponytail, it all needs to fit comfortably in the hood....

Why Did You Choose This?

Already have one and it's great

Keeps the head warm but will be replacing soon with a hood/vest combo. Neck skirt pulls out during rough water shore entries, but those are in 3-5 surf.
