I purchased this suit for cold water diving in New England.
I've been diving in water as cold as 60 degrees so far and I have not been cold at all. I have felt the thermocline, but suit is thick enough (even at 5mm) to warm back up and not feel enough cold to turn a diver away.
Don't buy this suit if your going to dive in water colder than 50 degrees (winter diving in new England) and/or are timid about cold water.
Best things about the suit:
- Very thick pad between back zipper and divers... back
- Comfortable velcro neck wrap doesn't allow water exchange
- Knee pads are thick and rough (better than most suits)
- Suit ankle area has zippers for easy donning
Overall a good cold water suit. You have to wear it a couple of times to break it in, but after that it fits like a glove. True to sizing. I Recommended it to a few dive buddies. You won't regret getting this as your first 7mm suit. While everyone else is shivering i'm nice and warm.
The Cruiser provides a means to enjoy many of the features and benefits of Pinnacle's higher end suits while still maintaining a budget. The Cruiser incorporates many design aspects that are superior to those found in other suits costing more than twice the price. This 5mm wetsuit has titanium lined nylon 2 neoprene throughout the suit. Advanced stretch neoprene is elastic enough to make donning simple, yet resilient enough to provide tremendous warmth.
Suit comes equipped with a 7mm thick spine pad that protects the back and reduces internal water movement for a warmer dive every time. Comfort and warmth are also increased with the rolled neck with hook and loop closure. If durability is what you are looking for the Pinnacle 5mm Cruiser has heavy-duty rough-skin kneepads for this critical wear area, molded rubber shoulder pads that protect diver and suit and help keep BCD in position. All seams are double glued and blind stitched with reinforcing stress disks at all seam intersections for added strength.
Suit has a back zipper with pull tab leash, 8" (20.3 cm) gusseted ankle zippers both for easy self-donning and doffing and all zippers come equipped with a plastic slider. Smooth skin neck, ankle, wrist and spine seals lock cold water out and seal body-heated water inside the suit. This all black sleek suit is available in wide range of sizes, so there's a Pinnacle 5mm suit that will fit you!

I'm 6'2 and 300 lbs. I'm looking at the pinnacle 5mm.. I don't like feeling constricted at the shoulders and other places. .. would 4x be my size?

Hello Billy, if you want to give our sales team a call. We would also need a few other measurements to properly fit you into the correct size of this suit.

Hello I'm about 5'9.5", 42in chest, 33in waist and 180#. Should I go with ML or L suit, please?
WESLEY J
Go with the Large. The ML might be to tight in the chest
BRENT S
ML should be perfect, I’m 5’7” 185 34” waist and it’s snug but comfortable, and length won’t be a problem

I would go with an XXL short; that being said, it's going to be a little long in the legs and arms, but you can have those taken in, or DIY it. The pinnacles I've ordered have typically run a hair on the small side.

will the 5 mm cruiser and inferno v-skin together equal a 7mm?
SCOTT R
Yes, I went up to New Port RI last October when it was very cold. The v skin under my wet suit did a fine job. Until it was time to take it all off, 32 degrees and windy
JACK S
Doubtful. The skins are normally thin and only for sun protection. When I dive the quarry in PA, I use the 5 mm full suit and a hooded vest underneath Keeps your core warm, without the bulkiness in the arms of a 7 mm. It's still chilly down deep, but comfortable up to 50-60'.

i received my v- skin very fast from leisure pro, It is like lava core i dove 67deg and did not feel cold.
the v-skin is nothing like my Lycra dive skin. the v-skin is warm neutrally buoyant. diving fresh water
warm with no weight (other than my back plate) was great.
