My second Cressi Big Eyes Mask

By divemoreworkless

This is my second Cressi Big Eyes mask as it fits extremely well, doesn't leak once sealed properly, and it's easy to have my prescription lens made to fit this mask. This mask is also extremely comfortable. I've tried other masks at much higher prices, and the Cressi Big Eye is the best value for the quality. The only con is that it fogs, but all masks I've ever tried fog eventually, and this can be minimized with a good defogger product.

Feels like a $90 mask.

By Tony

This mask blew me away. The quality of silicone is something i always had to deal with. Not with this mask, its amazingly soft. I dont even really feel on my face. it provides a great field of view, Which i actually wasn't even looking for. I use this mask for freediving, and freedive to 80ft regularly. I never feel pressure on my forehead, or nose. Because of how soft the silicone is, equalizing is no issue. i definitely recommend the black skirt. it makes everything a lot easyier to see. an...

The Big Eyes mask gives a very wide field of view. Compared with traditional masks, it increases the field of vision 30° in all directions. The Big Eye Mask has 2 tempered glass lenses and is a low volume design. The mask has a silicone double feathered edge skirt that is hypoallergenic, soft and comfortable; making this mask fit a wide range of faces. The profiled anatomical frame is streamlined and sits so close to the face that it seems to disappear-from-view when the mask is worn.

Its extraordinary inverted teardrop lens visibility, together with extreme comfort, efficient adjusting low-profile buckle system for the silicone strap makes this model a great choice for all diving activities, from snorkeling to deep free diving, to scuba diving. The mask strap is a wide split strap design for a better fit and added comfort. Mask has an easy-to-reach one-hand nose pocket for ear equalization which can be utilized even when wearing thick gloves. To protect your mask when not in use the Big Eye comes with a hard-plastic protective mask box. The Big Eye Mask is available in multiple color choices.

The Cressi Dry Snorkel has an anti-splash end with a special valve that seals the tube as you dive, almost totally preventing the entrance of water when the snorkel is submerged. The lower end has a corrugated section that has a smooth internal bore which prevents trapping water inside the snorkel tube allowing excess water to quickly drain to the collection reservoir below. The corrugated section also quickly drops away from the diver's mouth when switching from the snorkel to the Scuba regulator.

The special water collection reservoir, with its large elliptic one-way exhaust valve makes expelling excess water quick and easy. The replaceable angled mouthpiece and corrugated tube section are both made from hypoallergenic silicone adding comfort and function. A quick release snorkel keeper and ergonomic contoured shape make this one great snorkel. Snorkel is available in available in multiple color choices.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  corrective lenses for this model?
CHARLES M  Did not get corrective lenses. Dissatisfied with mask and will only use if back up is necessary. It irritates my nose-upper lip area.
ADOLFO T  No idea. Dont need them.
MIYUKI S  Leisure Pro has lenses for the Cressi Big Eyes EVOLUTION but not the Cressi Big Eyes.
KEVIN S  Yep. Stock replacements 1.0 thru 6.0 here at LP. About $30. Your specific prescription could be filled too, though I don't know if LP does it... More $$$. Very nice mask and snorkel, wish it fit me.
VADIM R  It seems to me that they do not exist. I was searching for the answer to the same question and found a posting by a Cressi rep that claimed that: 1) They have corrective lenses for Cressi Big Eyes Evo 2) Above lenses do not fit the Big Eyes model 3) Unlike Evo, Big Eyes is not designed to be disassembled However I believe that if the lenses between these two models are the same it would be possible to install Evo corrective lenses into non-Evo. But I do not have Evo and can not compare. If Evo lenses are larger it would be possible to grind them on the abrasive stone to match the non-Evo lenses (in case you are handy)
Shopper  Will the mask accomadate the corrective lenses made for the "Cressi Big Eyes Evolution?"
YAN G  No, the lenses made for the Big Eyes Evolution will not work in the standard Big Eyes mask.
Shopper  is this one size fits all?
carol g  Yes, but I am surprised at the good fit. It fits me and my face is narrow as well as my son's whose face is more rounded. I know you didn't ask this, but I also really like the snorkel that doesn't intake water.
IGNACIO F  So far yes, it fit me and also my daughter. (Adult not kids)
JOHN C  I've owned several masks, and even though some may say one size fits all, It's best to try it on. I am an average size and shape for things, so if you are not looking to accomodate any particular facial features, I would generally recommend this set up. I enjoy it. Hope this was helpful, and God bless.
JESSICA G  Yes, there is one size. To get the best mask fit you should ideally try on a few masks at the dive shop and see which will stay on your face when you breath in and then lean forward. However, I just gambled on this one since it was a good deal and it turned out to fit pretty well. I am a 5'3" female so I have a smaller head but it fits fine. I'm sure it could certainly fit some larger faces too, because it doesn't quite stay on my face when I breathe in and lean forward. I've gone down 80 feet with no problems and its comfortable.
IAN C  Its more like one size fits most. It is adjustable and should work great for 99% of people.
GEORGE H  There's no such thing in dive masks. You should go to a shop and see if mild inhaling will keep the mask from falling off your face. I knew my face size and guessed that this would fit. It did.
FredFarkle F  What is difference between the Cressi Big Eyes & the Cressi Big Eyes EVOLUTION masks?
STEVEN G  Call Customer Service, then when you get the one you order and don't like it they will let you send it back.
RYAN M  The Evolution has a dual density silicone skirt for a more precise fit. The Big Eyes fit me great so I didn't think I needed the extra features of the Evolution.
Shopper  I just bought and received the goggles and dry snorkel set. WHERE DOES THE SNORKAL ATTACH TO THE GOGGLES??
DAVID M  Mine came with plastic clips on the snorkel and mask strap that just snap together
SUSAN F  There is a black clip on the snorkel that attaches to the head strap.
DENNIS B  Their designed to hock onto the strap on the left side of the goggles.
SCOTT R  You should attach the snorkel on the left side of the mask strap. That way if you ever scuba dive it won't be on the same side as your second stage regulator. FYI A mask has a nose pocket. Goggles just cover your eyes and can't be used for going deep. Have fun in the water!!
SUSAN F  There is a black clip on the snorkel, that you attach to the strap on the goggles.
ADOLFO T  On the left side, with the strap
GUY K  There's an attachment device on snorkel that hooks it into the mask strap.
