Great Belt

By DOUGLAS P.

Doesn't slip at all! I was a little concerned about the plastic buckle, but it has exceeded my expectations. I use this belt for recreational free diving. I highly recommend it!

Spear fishing takes concentration; unlike scuba diving a spear fisherman can't stop to adjust a loosening weight belt due to wet suit compression at depth. The Omer Rubber Weight Belt with Stainless Steel Buckle allows the serious spear fisher to snug up the belt at the surface and forget it while fishing. The elastic rubber weight belt is manufactured with a high stretch rubber to keep your weights comfortably in proper position during ascents and descents. The high elastic properties of the belt will contract and compress with your wetsuit during your descent and expand and stretch as your wetsuit expand during ascent keeping your weight belt properly positioned around your hips. The stainless-steel buckle is a traditional latch style design. Belt is suitable for hard block or soft pocket lead weight.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does the Omer rubber belt with the plastic buckle have the same rubber material as as the classic Omer freedive belt? (Are the elastic properties the same btwn the two belts?)
STEPHEN D  The rubber is the same. I like the one with the metal buckle far more. As it would be easier to grab for an emergency ditch of the weights.
dennis b  how wide is the belt?
YAN G  2 inches. Its a standard weight belt size.
GARY M  2 "
Dennis M  How long is the belt and how much weight will it hold?
JIM O  When I got mine, I was a 34 waist and there was about 6-8 inches I had to cut off. I comfortably wear 4lbs (2 x 2lbs) but I'm sure you can add another 2-4lbs.
STEVE R  Quite a bit. I have used it in fresh and salt water and needed to put varying amounts on it. It is a very tough belt. I cannot recall how many pounds I have on it now, but it was able to handle whatever I put on it. I have a 36-38 inch waist, and it fits me comfortably inside a farmer john 5mm suit. I will have to get specs for you later and re-email you. Sorry for being vague.
MARK T  Longer than you need to fit around you. You will cut off the excess. Will hold whatever weight you can fit on it.
Shopper  is it 1 size'??????????????
MARK T  Yes.
SCOTT B  Yes. It's one size fits most.
DAVID M  Yes. Its really long....I forget exactly how long but you cut it to fit you.
DAVID M  yes-one size. the belt is quite long and is easily cut to length with a utility knife.
ERIC N  It's hard to describe in words, but it is adjustable beyond just threading the end you can't see in the photo through the buckle. The end of the belt that you see in the photo is threaded through the buckle. You can slide the buckle along the belt to the right, with the end of the belt hidden in the photo by the buckle coming out to the left. This effectively shortens the belt. You can then trim off the extra.
COLIN R  As far as I know there is only one size. It's very easy to cut to size and I believe this is what they had in mind. It's an excellent weight belt - you'll be really happy with it.
ROBERT R  Yes, you can cut it down after you put the weights on.
Shopper  can this belt be used with the pass through coated weights (like the bullet shaped weights)? For experience some rubber belts are too thick to pass through.
STEPHEN U  I have some coated square weights with two slots that slide through easily (2lb) and some that are a tight squeeze (5lb)... Hope this helps...
ERIC M  Yes, the coated pass through weights work on this belt. Both the kind where the belt passes though the middle of the weight, and the type with two holes to pass the belt through and back through.
BLAIR E  I use coated weights with no problems.Try lubing belt with silicone spray.
JASON P  Yes this belt will work with those weights fine. I have used both on this type of belt. Im not to fond of the plastic buckle thought. I replaced mine with the regular belt hook.
TASSOS A  I'm pretty sure it will. Remember it's rubber, so when u stretch it, it gets smaller.
ROBERT R  I have not used it with rubber coated weights, but I don't think it would be any problem. I really like the belt, use it for free diving.
WILLIAM D  Sorry, but I bought the belt as a present and I use the coated weight in my sea quest intergrated pouches. I like the weights, no lead residue. I suppose if you asked a tech person at leisure pro and if the items are in stock someone could see if the belt goes through the weights, good luck!
