I bought this wetsuit for winter scuba diving in Cozumel. I already own a 5mm Bare Elastek and was cross shopping suits versus Bare. I couldn't justify the expense of another Elastek suit and bought this mostly because it was in stock three days before my trip and because it was cheap.
I was blown away! The cost is similar to the Bare Sport and yet I'd say that it is much better than even the Bare Velocity! The fabric is warm and kind of slippery so it feels nice to touch and to wear. I...ts cut is flattering and in my opinion it's MUCH better than its entry-level price would suggest!
The fabric is very stretchy so I think it will be easier to find a suit that fits you than with most manufacturers. I said that it's hard to put on only because the zipper should extend a couple more inches towards your butt (I'm fit and nimble but could have used that).
The Explore 3mm is the must-have piece for tropical dive expeditions. Featuring 100% ultra-flex DS, firewall chest, glide skin O-ring seals, and a utility hidden key pocket, the Explore 3mm makes diving in a wetsuit easy by providing completely unrestricted movement, an engineered fit, lasting thermal insulation, and full body protection from the elements. Suit is equipped with strategic flex zones for added comfort, heavy duty #10-back zipper with pull tab leash for easy donning and doffing. All seams are flat lock stitched for strength, durability and comfort. Suit is also equipped with Krypto Knee Padz for better wear and a super neck seal to reduce water flushing. Suit is available in multiple sizes and is black in color.

Am thinking of getting this in 3mm 3XL how many pounds of weight will I need to add?
HARRY S
This is a tough question to answer. The best that I can do is tell you about my weighting and then you can possibly estimate you weight requirements. I am 6' tall, 195 pounds and I take an XL in this wetsuit. I need 14 pounds of weight to dive comfortably in salt water. I could probably drop to 12 pounds, but I would be fighting with my buoyancy at the end of the dive with a nearly-empty tank. I am a lazy diver, so I want to do the least work possible. Safety stops would be a pain. 14 pounds has been my number for the last 20 years and my last three 3mm wetsuits. Hopefully, you can use this information to estimate you weight requirements.

I have an o,neal 3mil it is 16 years old it is getting tighter to get into does this mean I need a new one?
JASON P
If you got 16 years out of a wetsuit then it's time for a new one. If you don't know already the wetsuit neoprene breaks down after going to depth and eventually loses its warmth anyway.

I would go with a xl... I am 6 ft 195 with a 44in chest fits me good
RANDALL T
I am 5"7" same waist and chest 46. I ordered a XL Short. NOt sure how to calculate the 176 cm. The suit is warm, almost too warm for my are the South Carolina coast. I would not take this suit to the tropics.

Is zipper on the front or in the back?
HARRY S
This suit is OK for me. I got it in a panic due to my old Henderson 5/3mm self destructing (after 13 years), just days before we were leaving for Bonaire.
My Henderson was a custom fit one-piece and fit like a glove. I wanted to replace it temporarily with something inexpensive as I have ordered another Henderson custom fit wetsiut.
Normally I take a large in ANY off the shelf wetsuit. I ordered a large O'Neill and could not fit in it comfortably. I ordered an XL and I fit in it OK. The problem is that it is a little baggy around my legs and the ankles have semi-dry seals. When I exit the water, I am carrying about a gallon of water in the legs that I have to reach down and stretch the ankle seal to drain.
The suit is warm and it is durable. If you fill out your size better than me, you should have a good suit for the price.

This is a back zip wetsuit with a flap over the top of the zipper at the neck. I did several dives in and around Cancun with this suit last year including 2 cavern dives in the Yucatan Jungle (water temps were 73-75 degrees) and several reef dives (water temps were about 81 degrees). I didn't get too hot or too cold.....great suit in my opinion.
JASON B
The zipper is in the back.

The zipper is in the back. Great suit overall.

Back! And I love this wetsuit!
