Comments about Oms Rapid Deployment System BCD:

This is the best all in one rescue bc on the market. I have been using this bc for fire department rescue diving and love this product. I have used many other bc in the past and have not found one that compares. This bc is very easy to adjust with lots of length to the adjustments straps. The construction the the bc is much like that of a harness style; where the tank attaches it has a unique cylinder holding system that is easy to use. I have never had the tank come loose. The weight pouches are user friendly and allow you to store enough weight to drysuit dive with ease. One of the best features for rescue divers is the amount of lift; this bc has 60 lbs. There is no other bc I have seen that compares. I also must add that the bc has lot of storage that is easy to access while diving and has heavyweight construction. The BC also has a plethora of D-rings which always comes in handy. I would suggest this BC for any diver, and highly recommend this BC for rescue divers. It is a must have.

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  Would this be acceptable for a recreational use BCD that can dual purpose as a rescue BCD? I'm 5'10", 175, what size would you recommend? Medium?
PRINCETON F  Our dive team purchased one about 2 months ago. We are very pleased with this BCD. We have a wide variety of sizes on our team so we bought a XL. Also wanted it a little big to wear a dry suit under. I am 5'8", 170 and I think a Large would be a good size for me personally.
Shopper  Is this a back inflation or a jacket or a combo of both? Also is it made of a heavy material, I found the OMS featherlite to be somewhat thin material
EDWARD J  The backplate and side pockets inflate for a snug fit also I have not has this item very long but the material seems very durable to me all your weight pockets are on the sides so I recommend you get a tank weight for rear balancing they are not too expensive but I really like this BC.
