Comments about OMS IQ Backpack Harness:

This is the system we use at NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory. They hold up extremely well to the thousands of hours of bottom time we put on them every year--even with the severe discoloration from chemical exposure in the water there. This is a great system. It is very comfortable. I have a closet full of gear/B.C.'s; however, this is my primary/go-to unit. If I had to keep just one, it would be this one -- hands down...

Comments about OMS IQ Backpack Harness:

I also purchased a cumberband (additional) to accompany the IQ unit which I personally would recommend. Snug fit and quite adjustable as well. I was getting back and neck pain from the halcyon harness I had been using with my OMS backplate, I found the weight distribution was uneven and uncomfortable. The IQ backpack was an excellent solution and now the weight hangs where it should (through the top of the shoulders for me) with great support across the sternum. The cumberband keeps the unit snug and the whole system works quite well. I would recommend going with the smaller weight pockets and then using a utility pocket for storage.

      Service and delivery comments:

I was very happy with the service I got from LeisurePro and would highly recommend them. Couldn't believe how quickly the unit was shipping to me. Very impressed.

Comments about OMS IQ Backpack Harness:

I use this IQ pack with a 32lb.wing and a single tank. Have used it in the cold midwestern lakes and quarries in my drysuit(down to 38deg.F)and also used the same set-up in Florida with a shorty wetsuit(high 80's F) without any problems whatsoever. My only recommendation is to change to rigid 'D' rings on the waist strap.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Does the IQ pack works without additional backplate?
ROY M  I have never dove my IQ harness without a backplate. The harness attaches with eyebolts to the wing. You would have to use eyebolts and the metal wing clips to attach the two together if you did not use a backplate. I use mine with a stainless backplate and a double bladder 95 OMS wing. I use double 100 hp steel tanks most of the time. I do use It with my singles also. I use a stainless steel tank adapter and backplate on my 120's and 130's. This is an awsome rig, but i think its works best with the back plate. Its also looks awsome with that big red bladder.
diveinst d  Which weight pockets do you recommend?
DAN W  Hi, I don't know what kind of diving you plan on doing so I will give my opinion on the two weight pockets I have. I have both the No Sag weight pocket and the Compact weight pocket. The No Sag pockets are are big and bulky, lots of storage space for a lot of weight and have an emergency dump option. I find them to be cumbersome. The Compact weight pockets are what I personally use, they are good for holding about 6 to 8 lbs each, maybe 10 but it might be a tight fit. There is no emergency dump option and you will need some kind of OMS Billy Ring or other type of Weight Keeper to hold them in place. They are very streamline when swimming horizontally close to the bottom where as the No Sag pockets tend to hang down a bit. That"s my opinion, hope it helps.
Shopper  Does IQ pack have a lifting ring between the shoulders?
LeisurePro S  Yes, the IQ harness has a lifting ring between the shoulders.
