Very easy to use. This wrist computer has everything you need for air and enriched air diving. The audible alarms either don't work or aren't loud enough, but, the red warning light functions properly and is easy to see. The color reference for tissue loading bars is difficult to see because of the rubber wrist boot that holds the computer module. Overall a good computer. Get the cable for downloading the data for Ocean Log.

This is a reliable basic computer that gets the job done but don't expect too much more. You can not set the alarms and they only sound when you go into DECO or if you're going up too fast. I know you should always be aware of your depth but it would be nice if at least it would let you know you were at 20 - 15 ft. to make a Safety Stop. With one button be prepared to scroll!! if you go past some information you're looking for, just hope you only have a few dives saved otherwise you'll be scrolling though all of those too. The same applies if you make a mistake during the set up mode which is really easy to get into..sometime even when you don't want to. On the plus side you can set it up to come on as soon as it gets wet which is nice. The price is right and it does give you all the basic information you'll need but it stops at that. This also does not have RGBM capability. I bought one for myself and my wife and they both had Spanish only manuals. Not a big deal since my wife is from Peru and the English version is on the Oceanic web site. This is not a recommended computer for diving at Bikini so now if I'm going to do that I need to buy another computer.

Comments about Oceanic "Veo 180" Air/Nitrox Wrist Dive Computer:

I had purchased the Oceanic veo 180 and then downloaded the manual PDF and did the online course (using the veo 250 model which has the same screens and functions) before I recieved it in the mail. When I opened it up I was able to set all the functions without any difficulty. I just made 2 dives in Davao, Philippines and it worked great.

Comments about Oceanic "Veo 180" Air/Nitrox Wrist Dive Computer:

I bought this as a backup computer to use with a Suunto primary. I have only used it on 7 dives, but so far it works well and it is very readable. As many others have indicated, the single button control is a pain - if you change your gas mix or other setting regularly you will be frustrated. Make an error on a setting (and that is easy to do) you are back through the whole process. For sale this is a great deal. At regular price I would look for something easier to set and change.

          Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
ANDREW K  Bought as gift for my wife since we just completed Nitrox course. Similar to the veo 100 she is already familiar with, Nitrox capable, and affordable. The divemaster of our scuba club keeps a few loaners of these around for training new divers.
          Shopper  Size?
JAMES K  This is the same size as almost all puck style computers. Large enough to read all the displays comfortably and for night diving the face will glow if you put your dive light on it for a few seconds.
Shopper  Can I change the battery myself?
          DAVID B  yes
