Can I change the battery myself?
Yes. As far as I know, all Oceanic computers have user-changeable batteries. I've been doing it about 20 years without problems. Also, the battery compartment is separate from the computer electronics, so if you do flood the battery, you can rinse it out, clean the contacts, and install a new battery.
Yes you can. It doesn't have to be sent to the manufacturer. However, I usually have the dive shop I buy the baytteries from do it so if there's a problem installing it, if it floods after the change, the shop is liable not me. Just a suggestion. Good luck.
Yes, the battery is user-replaceable.

I'm not sure about this exact model. But every dive computer I've had is viciously difficult to change batteries.
If you're mechanically adept you can do it. But you must buy the kit. If you don't change the o-ring it will leak. Guaranteed.
What I started doing is shipping to the manufacturer for the battery change. They pressure test, update software, etc. it's worth the money for the peace of mind.
Sure can. I have two and have done both since we dive about every weekend.
Yea, it is replaceable by a user.
Yes you can change the battery yourself and I already have changed mine out while underway to my next dive site, while on the cruise ship. My Veo 180 works great and the price can't be beat. Good diving!
Yes. A special tool is needed to get the battery cover off, which is included with the computer. BE VERY CAREFUL! I flooded my first Veo 180 changing the battery myself. (I didn't lube the o-ring properly.)
Yes, they send a simple tool along with the computer. You have to towel dry, open, take out battery and replace with a new one. Get a new on put in before an overseas trip. I didn't and had to spend an expensive taxi ride into town to get a new battery that is cheap at home. Clean and dry the cover before twisting it closed. This is the cheapest and best nitrox computer. No reason not to be without one, or two. I carry two because I solo dive.
yes...just make sure when your replace it, to inspect and lubricate the large thin o ring that seals the battery chamber
Yes. It comes with a key so you can change the battery yourself.
Yes, I just received mine a month ago and have not used it. But if you look up the online manual (doesn't come with one) there are directions and how to do it...
Yes, the battery is user-changeable, though it's tricky! I did it, so I know it can be done, but the instructions are sketchy, at best!
Yes, but it is a major hassle! You have to use the tool provided and press down really hard. Actually, I had to have a dive shop do it for me the first time, and then I had to go back to get them to help me put the back on again.
But...it IS doable.
