About Oceanic Veo 180 Dive Computer SWIV Double Gauge Combo

The Veo 180 is an easy to use, compact computer suitable for divers of all experience levels. Designed for diving with air or nitroxmixtures up to 50 percent, the Veo 180's extensive functions are accessed via one button at the base of the display. It is shown here in a console with a SlimLine Pressure Gauge.
The SlimLine tracks tank pressures up to 5,000 psi and has a thermometer at the base of its luminescent face.
The brand new Swiv Console allows you to custom position your instruments with an allen key.

The Veo 180 operates as an air or nitrox computer down to 330 feet and a depth gauge/bottom timer to 399 feet. It has large, easy to read alphanumeric displays and color coded graphs where green means "go," yellow means "caution" and red means "stop." There are a variety of user settable audible and visual alarms. The computer can be turned on before your dive, but if you forget, it turns itself on underwater. The batteries have a 300 hour lifetime and are user replaceable at any time without the loss of data.
The Veo 180 offers both time to fly and nitrogen offgasing countdowns. It automatically adjusts for altitude and for use in salt or fresh water. It displays temperature and time of day.

The Veo 180 has audible and/or visual alarms or displays for

  • High 02
  • High and maximum PO2
  • Safety stops
  • No decompression time remaining
  • O2 time remaining
  • Ascent rate
  • Oxygen loading
  • Nitrogen loading
  • Low battery
Also user settable:
  • Time of day in either 12 or 24 hour format
  • Metric or Imperial measurements
  • Dive mode display (four choices)

With the Veo 180 you'll never forget to make a safety stop and you won't have to guess where or how long to make it, the computer alerts you visually and audibly when you reach 15 feet and shows you when the safety stop time is up.
The Veo 180 offers backlighting but lets you determine the length of time it stays on, from 0 to 7 seconds. It also lets you choose as many as four main and one alternate dive mode displays.
The number of dives stored in the Veo 180's memory depends upon the sampling rate frequency, which is user settable. Storage of as many as 150 dives is possible with a low frequency. An optional OceanLog PC Interface lets you download this data.

Very easy to use. This wrist computer has everything you need for air and enriched air diving. The audible alarms either don't work or aren't loud enough, but, the red warning light functions properly and is easy to see. The color reference for tissue loading bars is difficult to see because of the rubber wrist boot that holds the computer module. Overall a good computer. Get the cable for downloading the data for Ocean Log.

This is a reliable basic computer that gets the job done but don't expect too much more. You can not set the alarms and they only sound when you go into DECO or if you're going up too fast. I know you should always be aware of your depth but it would be nice if at least it would let you know you were at 20 - 15 ft. to make a Safety Stop. With one button be prepared to scroll!! if you go past some information you're looking for, just hope you only have a few dives saved otherwise you'll be scrolling though all of those too. The same applies if you make a mistake during the set up mode which is really easy to get into..sometime even when you don't want to. On the plus side you can set it up to come on as soon as it gets wet which is nice. The price is right and it does give you all the basic information you'll need but it stops at that. This also does not have RGBM capability. I bought one for myself and my wife and they both had Spanish only manuals. Not a big deal since my wife is from Peru and the English version is on the Oceanic web site. This is not a recommended computer for diving at Bikini so now if I'm going to do that I need to buy another computer.

Watch the CD first. I had trouble figuring out what I was seeing at times. I wanted it to stay on the screen that I use most for my dive. It kept going back to a different screen.

Great No Frills Computer. Shows what you need to know. Warning Beep is hard to notice. I removed it from Band and popped it into my console (replacing depth gauge puck). Overall excellent value!

This is the easiest computers to read. Big numbers and nitrogen bar graph. I've learned from many computers what looks good on the surface or in a magazine , might not work underwater. Most computers I have to hold up to my face to see the nitrogen bar graph. This one is big and easy, what a deal
