A Must Have For All Divers

By Redshark

I have compared this to several different styles and models and by far this is the best that I have seen. The Oceanic Veo 1.0 is a Solid Basic Dive Computer designed for Air or Single Gas NITROX Mixes up to 50%. It Displays Only-Essential Information during the Dive in Easy-to-Read Digits; uses Effective-Bar Graphs to present Nitrogen Loading and Ascent Rate; and offers useful features like an Automatic Safety Stop Countdown Timer that ticks off three minutes when you ascend to 4.6 meters (15'). A Single Push Button is all that's required to Navigate-the-Settings and the Sequences are Intuitive with help from the Excellent Owner's Manual and Waterproof Prompt Card. At this price point, you are giving up bells and whistles--most notably audible alarms, a backlight and the ability to download dive profiles--but these are excellent choices if you want a simple, low-cost computer.

The Oceanic Veo 1.0 is powered by Oceanic's Exclusive Dual Algorithm - Your choice between Pelagic DSAT (Spencer/Powell data basis) or Pelagic Z+ (Buhlmann ZHL-16C data basis). The Computer is Water and/or Manually Activated, provides Time of Day Display in a 12 or 24 hour Format, will Automatically Adjust for Altitude Diving from 610 to 4,200 meters (2,000' to 14,000') and has a 24 Hour Time to Fly Countdown Function. The Computer has a 12 Dive-On-Unit-Log Capacity, Pre-Dive Planning Sequence Function, provides Temperature and can be set for Metric or Imperial Units of Measure.

The Oceanic Veo 1.0 Computer has a Deep Stop Option, Decompression Capability for 3 to 18 meters (10' to 60'), Variable Ascent Rate Function, Nitrogen Tissue Loading Bar Graph, Numeric Percentage Oxygen Loading, O2 Time Remaining and is equipped with a User-Replaceable CR 2450 Battery with an 8-Second Hot-Swap" Function to Retain Calculations during a Battery Change. The Computers Operation Depth is 100 meters (330'). The Oceanic Veo 1.0 Dive Computer is covered by a 24 month limited Warranty. The Computer comes in a Console with a Submersible Pressure Gauge (SPG). The Oceanic's SWIV SPG comes in a Durable Impact Resistant Boot with a High Pressure Hose. The Pressure Gauge has 0 to 400 bars Readout with a Safety Reserve 0 to 50 bars Color Coded in Red to allow the diver to know that they are low on air. The Pressure Gauge also has a Yellow Color Coded Caution Zone from 50 to100 bars for Deeper Dive Reserve Requirements and a Green Color Code Zone from 100 to 400 bars. The Gauge Case is manufactured from Tough Glass-Filled Noryl and the Gauge Face is Durable Lexan. The Impact-Resistant Boot has Multiple Eyelets for attachment of a clip or lanyard to keep the gauge close at hand and from dragging over the environment.

The Pressure Gauge has a Shock Resistant Bourdon Tube Mechanism and is equipped with a Double Kevlar Braided High Pressure Hose with Triple Chrome Plated Marine Brass Fittings with a 7/16" Threaded end. Hose has a 360° Swivel end for easy use. The Pressure Gauge is also equipped with a Temperature Gauge Both the Pressure and Temperature Gauge Needles Tips are colored Bright Red for easy reading The SWIV Pressure Gauge is covered by a 60 month limited warranty.
