Oceanic upgraded the Ocean Pro to the Ocean Pro 1000-D Buoyancy Compensator. The Ocean Pro 1000-D is constructed of a combination of Heavy-Duty, 500 to 1600-Denier Fadeless Fabric. Oceanic also added Zippered Pockets and the new, Lower Profile Quick Lock & Release (QLR4) Weight System. The QLR Weight System has a capacity of 20 lbs (9.1 kg) between the two Weight Pockets. The QLR assures Weights Say-in-Position throughout the dive and Do-Not-Shift-Around Affecting Buoyancy or Position in the Water. The Weight Pouches are Simple-to-Load and Easy-to-Release. Best of all, Oceanic's patented "Positive-Lock" System helps to ensure that they'll stay put.
The BCD has a unique Sternum Strap with a Built-In Whistle. The Ocean Pro Jacket Style BCD comes equipped with Oceanic's Alliance Integrated Inflator. Ergonomically designed to be Functional and Easy-to-Use in any Dive Position, the Alliance Integrated Inflator provides a Full-Range of Airway Exhaust/Inflation Control. Simply Press a Button to Produce-Precise Flow for Trimming Dive Attitude or Maximum Flow for Major-Changes in Buoyancy. A large Exhaust Valve creates a Flow-Rate Higher than the Inflation Rate of the Power Inflator, Improving Diver Control during Ascents.
The BCD's Waist Strap, Torso Shoulder Adjustment Straps and the Sternum Strap all have Squeeze-Style" Quick-Release Buckles for Easy of Donning and Doffing. A Padded Backpack, Carry Handle and Molded Tank Cradle/Anti-Slip Pad are all standard with the Ocean Pro BCD. BCD is equipped with 8-Plastic D-Rings. The BCD has an Adjustable Cummerbund and Single Cam Cylinder Band. The Oceanic Ocean Pro BCD provides from XS: 20 lbs to 48 lbs (9.1 to 21.8 kg) of Lift depending on the size. BCD is Black in color, comes with a Low Pressure Quick-Disconnect Hose, Owner's Manual and is covered by a 24 month limited warranty.

Comments about Oceanic Ocean Pro QLR 4 with Weight Pockets:
This is by no means a bad BCD. It is actually a pretty nice BCD for someone who lives in a warm water environment and doesn't require more than maybe 30LBS of weight.
However, I found it to bee a little too bulky for my taste and does not provide too much lift if you are doing a cold water dive and require extra weights due to thick wetsuits.
Also, Oceanic decided not to put any D-rings at the bottom of BCD, but rather they are hidden behind the integrated weight system... let's just say it was not the greatest idea. Lastly, if you are like me that likes to have a back-up knife attached to your BCD, the design of the QLR4 does not leave too much actual room to attach one, unless you are willing to open some wholes in it.
Not everything is complains about this BCD. It did look nice and stylish. it also provides the diver with large pockets.
Unfortunately, this BCD was not suited for my needs and I had no choice but to trade it in for the Oceanic Excursion 2. Sometimes is just better to pay a little more.
