Why does this octo have a 30" hose when most others hace 36"?
I have an early model Oceanic flat octo which is very compact. How does this product and my octo compare in bulk & weight because I want my gear as light and compact as possible.
It's fairly light. and weighs around the same as the Slimline Octo. The hose should be between 30" and 36" depending on your size. This should come with a 36" hose.
Thanks for you reply. I did purchase this item for both my wife and myself. It does have a 36 inch hose even though LeisurePro advertises it with a 30 inch hose.
Thanks for your response and advice. S.
The hose i have that came with this octo is 36". It might be a little bulkier than you are looking for, but it is super Lightweight and very durable. So far, I have loved mine.
Thanks for your reply and advice. S.
There is no comparison between the older, flat style Oceanic Octos and the Neo Octo... The NEO breathes more like a good primary, not an octo and remember, when your buddy runs out of air will he politely "ask" you to borrow your octo, or just yank your primary out of your mouth..?? If you want to have the best backup second stage available, get the NEO Octo. As for the reduction in hose length I find the 30" hose fine for teaching in the pool. I use a separate pony bottle when diving recreationally.
Sorry I have yet to use this. Had surgery and have not had the opertunity to go diving.
Thanks for your advice and prompt response. Stephen S.
It tucks in nicer without being longer and you should rarely, if ever, need to use it. The hose length isn't an issue for us!
