Very well built

By Gary

Very well built; like stated, it is built to last a life time.

solid! great price

By WildBill

Solid and very well constructed. Seems like a lot of light for not a lot of money (at sale price at least). It is heavy but I wanted a light that would last.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  May rechargeable batteries be used with this light? NiMH C-cells, to be exact.
OSCAR L  Yes, of course. I use them
MAVERICK K  Also even though its $50 still not worth it, I have mini torches from Ikelite and Sola that out performs this light and this light is very bulky
MAVERICK K  Yes they can, did you purchase this yet? In my opinion I was expecting a brighter beam , I own several torches and besides my Terra Nova 10,000 lumen light that I only use for night diving my Scuba Pro torch is 10X better than the Oceanic , hope this helps
MIHAIL R  Yes, this is what I am using. One thing to be aware is that depending on what rechargeable batteries you are using (mA) you may find that you need to recharge the batteries more often than replacing the non-rechargeable ones.
Shopper  How many lumens, how do you advertise a light without saying how many lumens it has?
MARK S  I have this light. Unfortunately, the manufacturer, Oceanic, does not rate it with a lumen output. I'm sure the is why Leisure Pro does not provide this rating. That being said, I dive in New England and this light provides a high enough output so that the amount of light is useful diving.
DAVID T  It is advertised, 300 lumens. Great light and very bright.
WILLIAM K  it's ok, well built but heavy, I use it as a backup light, I got the handout out and it doesn't say how bright just light color 5500 degree Kelvin, it's cheap But if you want and awsome light try a sola 1200watts, sealed unit, rechargable batterys, leds 3 different settings, plus either flood or spot light and this bad boy is bright best I have ever seen light weight and fits on your hand so you don't have to hold it, magnetic switch to prevent accidental on/off down side is it's $700, you get what you pay for, you want to buty my oceancic let it go in a heartbeat.
TRANSPORT D  I cannot tell you how many lumens, but I know that my HID is my choice of dive lights. At night, this isn't too bad, but again, I prefer the Light Cannon over this one. This is a wonderful backup light at a good price
JOSEPH E  In this case don't even worry about the lumens. The light beam is very ylellow especially when compared to other LED lights. I sold mine on eBay a short time after purchase.
MICHAEL M  It's 300 lumens. A nice light for cold water diving. A bit heavy for taking in luggage. Personally I recommend the SL3 eLED as my light of choice for daytime diving but a great light for looking into crevices and under overhangs.
YOUNG JI L  Don't buy this...not good enough..
Shopper  how many watts?
DAVID M M  I don't know exact number of watts, but it's a great light. I use it as my primary light for recreational night diving.
JOSEPH E  Not sure of the watts but that is irrelevant. The light beam is very yellow. It does not even appear to be LED when used next to another light. Got rid of it on eBay a short time later.
JOSEPH E  what is the battery configuation; type and amount??
MICHAEL L  3C Batteries Vertically aligned in series (head to toe) Batteries are inserted via the base cap (lanyard end) Pros: - It's a great light for the price!! - Amazingly bright & long lasting w/ the low power draw from LEDs - It's a "solid" light- feels like it was milled from an aluminum block Cons: - It's on the heavy side - Fixed beam (not that big of a con, but at times would be nice to choose "flood" vs. "spot" beam) - The base cap provides a solid seal... but this seems to cause the 2 O-Rings in the base cap to need replacement fairly frequently (almost like when you unscrew your tank's yoke, you need to replace the o-ring. Overall... still an amazing light for the price, the LED technology & solid construction.
CONLEY J  THREE C CELL BATTERIES
Shopper  powerful enough to use as a primary on night dives?
JANET S  The light is powerful, but to be honest, I have not taken it on a night dive. It has plenty of light outside of water and think it would work great.
PAUL W  Yes. It is plenty bright and I use it as my primary on night dives.
JOHN J  YES. It is pretty heavy and may want to change your lead weight.
BOB B  I have used this light as a primary on a night dive at Bonaire. I was very bright and worked great. My girl-friend was carrying my Underwater Kinetics 4 cell light, It made that light look like a dim candle! You could really see the difference, hers had a yellow cast while my Oceanic was a bright white. It's a good light. It is long. A bit hard to manage for daylight wall and crevice exploring.
CATHY D  Yes! It is a very good primary light. Just completed a night dive 2 days ago - with 2 ft. visability. Definitely recommend this purchase.
BRUCE R  Yes, it certainly is, in fact any brighter than this and you will scare the critters away! Bruce PADI Master Instructor
Chad S  It's bright enough if the water is clear. Using it in murky water is like using your brights in the fog. This is a big & heavy light. Adjust weights accordingly.
TRANSPORT D  It's a very good light as a primary, though not as great as my UK Light Canon. The flashlight is better than a C8 which s considered by many to be a primary.
YOUNG JI L  good, but too big and not that useful for diving. I think it's a little heavier than I thought. I recommend small and brighter than 1000 lumen flash lights.
DAVID M M  Great light. Good for night dives, even for videoing.
ROBERT L  I cant say for sure because I sent mine back. I never tried it under water but I did try it in the dark. I thought the beam was weak and yellow. I bought the UK Eled light cannon and C4 eled. Depending on they type of diving these would be far better in lower visibility or wrecks. I used them in the clear water of the Bahamas and they were actually too bright. They seemed to scare the wildlife off more than the weaker lights everyone else had. These would be the ticket for photography I bet.
JAMES S  Sorry Have not used it yet. It's very difficult to find a good dive light for under $200.00, I think this one will work I will be diving this winter in Mexico, I love night dives Jim
STEPHEN C  I use this light as my primary for night dives always. So yes. I love the size and durablity.
ELICIA T  Absolutely! I've used it on night dives as my primary light and it's brighter than the lights other divers were using. I really love this light!
