About Oceanic GEO Wrist Computer "Old Style"

Sporty-licious. The GEO is a powerful and versatile new SCUBA and Free-Diving Sports watch, cementing our reputation as the leader in specialty dive watches. A unique combination of quality, function and style, the GEO Wristwatch is perfect on its own or as a backup to any dive computer.

Advanced Free Dive Mode
The GEO provides accurate depth and time with an amazing 1-second sampling rate for subsequent PC download and analysis. Dive Time is displayed in seconds and minutes. Custom audible alarms include Elapsed Dive Time, Countdown Timer and (3) Independent Max Depth Alarms. The GEO is the first Free Diving Computer to calculate and track Nitrogen Tissue Loading, allowing you to switch between SCUBA dives and Free Dives on the same dive day.

Advanced Wristwatch Functions
The GEO is an advanced digital wristwatch featuring a 1/100 second chronograph (stopwatch) with lap timer, 24 hour countdown timer, daily alarm, alternate time zone with date, 12/24 hour clock, and OceanGlo_ Backlight.

Dive Time Remaining
Dive Time Remaining provides a 'real' number in minutes, considering Nitrogen and Oxygen absorption, and automatically displays whichever allows less time.

Oversized Digits
Take the Oceanic challenge: When shopping for a new dive computer, compare the displays. When it comes to viewing critical information, which would you rather see at 100 feet?

Audible Alarms with Flashing LED Warning Light
The GEO features a variety of system and user-customized audible alarms, alerting you to situations that pose a potential danger, or simply serve as a convenient reminder.

Audible Alarm Acknowledgement
Have you ever had difficulty hearing your computer's audible alarm? Perhaps that little beep signifying a potentially dangerous situation was timed perfectly with your exhaust bubbles rushing past your ears. Or maybe it seemed insignificant as that huge manta ray soared overhead. You won't miss the GEO's audible alarm. Once triggered, the alarm will sound continuously for 10 seconds. We know what you're thinking. "That's nice, I'll definitely hear the alarm, but isn't that going to annoy me and everyone else in the water?" We thought of that too. The alarm's job is to get your attention so that you look at the computer. Once it does that, simply press the button and it will stop. You're a responsible diver and the GEO treats you that way.

Air or Nitrox
The GEO acts simply as an 'Air' computer until you tell it otherwise, whether that is this weekend or 2 years down the road.

Comments about Oceanic GEO Wrist Computer "Old Style":

This is sleek enough to wear the entire trip even on shore. Looks like a large faced watch.

First trips were difficult and I made plenty of mistakes on settings (Air, Nitx, Freedive). No online lesson at the time.

Once straight, I was very pleased with it. Good log. CPU program worked well.

CONS: For a rock like me, it had a steep learning curve. Help card was not too helpful.

Mixed issue: Safety settings were rather liberal compared to Suunto Gecko or Mares Puck. Perhaps a mistake of mine on the initial set up. My Puck (backup) as well as my dive buddies Gecko's hit DECO far sooner than the GEO.

Yes, I would recommend and purchase another. Get through the initial learning curve, and get settings to a tighter profile. BE safe.

Comments about Oceanic GEO Wrist Computer "Old Style":

this computer is a great basic unit and does everything you need to in a dive computer. the menus are a little confusing, but it's honestly a set and forget for 99% of the features, the only exception being nitrox of course!

no air integration, but considering I'll always tend to dive with a gauge even if i had it, it's not a concern. Students always ask about it and it's a pity its not sold anymore (and didn't come in pink for the girls!) because i think Oceanic were onto a great thing with such a simple, cost effective unit.

Comments about Oceanic GEO Wrist Computer "Old Style":

I bought this "old style" because of low $ and I wanted a backup computer. I am basically a cheapscate.

It is easy to operate. I am old and like big displays and I have no problem reading this one. I like the cheap battery although I have not yet replaced it.

I now consider this computer as my primary and only refer to the console for air/gas.
