About Oceanic GEO 2.0 Wrist Computer

The Geo 2.0 includes Oceanic's exclusive Dual Algorithm Buhlmann ZHL-16c based PZ+, or DSAT based, algorithm, deep stop option and a redesigned user interface with "step back" which allows forward and backward navigation through menus and settings. Additionally, a second Nitrox mix (both programmable to 100%) is available, as well as firmware auto-update which allows the user to download and install operational improvements or even future new features through the PC Interface (with optional cable). With dual algorithm and optional conservative factor settings, the Geo 2.0 may be programmed to provide no-deco and deco profiles similar to virtually every computer on the market.

4 Operating Modes: WATCH (alternate time, chrono, daily alarm, countdown timer), NORM (Air and Nitrox), GAUGE (with run timer) and FREE (tracks calculations to allow switching between NORM and Free). Switch between up to 2 Nitrox mixes to 100% O2 with no restriction (Gas 1 may be up to 100%, and may be less or greater than Gas 2). Stop times less than 3 minutes - displays minutes & seconds, deep stop with countdown timer maybe turned on or off, 2 minute countdown at half your max depth, for dives greater than 80' (25 meters). Single button access to "last dive" display (max depth & bottom time), data retention - maintains calculations indefinitely when the battery is changed, audible alarm with flashing LED light, 24 dive on-unit log book and history mode includes total number of dives, max depth, total dive hours, and lowest temp.

Optional PC interface with OceanLog download and settings upload, 24 dive log memory for diving and 99 dives in free dive mode. The computers altitude algorithm is Buhlmann, IANDT, RDP (Cross) with altitude correction and O2 limits based on the NOAA tables and provides altitude adjustability from 3,001' to 14,000' (916 to 4,200 meters). The computer is powered by a CR2430 lithium battery that can provide up to 300-dive hours. The Computer has an operational depth of 330' (100 meters). When in low light conditions the Geo 2.0 is equipped with a backlight with an adjustable duration function and much more. The computer comes with a comprehensive owner's manual and is covered by a 60 month limited warranty.

Outstanding Value and Performance

Wonderful computer. Lot of bang for the buck. Great for advanced divers as well as beginners.I have never been fond of air integrated computers. After using a Geo for two years and about 1200 dives, I couldn´t wait to get my hands on this model. Also, a big plus is the ability to program in two gasses...something the old Geo would not do. A great improvement. Oceanic did a great job on this simple yet sophisticated PDC. I doubt you´ll find anything comprable for [$].

Not easy to use

I DONT recommend this dive computer. I retuned it after 3 dives, hard to operate do to the lack of a decent operation manual. Nitrox features are hard to setup as well. I rate this product: C-

Happy to dive with this computer on my wrist. .

from Cleveland, OH, US

Very satisfied with the algorithm. Used this computer on multiple Liveaboard dives over 10 days on Nitrox 32. My bottom times were nice compared to my conservative back up unit. Once you follow the online set up tutorial, it is an intuitive computer that lets you navigate the screens relatively easily. The functions you need to change the most often are pretty easy to learn. Nice options in audible alarms etc and water activated so no need to worry about that. I like the many higher tech features this gives you if you like to do more advanced dives.

User friendly

from Christiansted, St Croix, VI

This is my first owned dive computer, I have been on ten dives with it so far. Quality of the materials used are great, the system itself is easy to use and navigate through the information displayed. Large easy to read dial face.

Good but Confusing UI

Always good experience with computers made by Pelagic Pressure Systems. I passed my first one onto my friend's daughter who, certified at 17, was younger than the computer (Sherwood Source). The unit is still fully functional but after 20+ years the shell developed a crack when I changed the battery for the upteenth time. My Oceanic Datamax Sport is going strong after over 12 years. It's a loaner now. I had a Aladin Tec 2G crap out on me so I purchased this Geo 2. This Geo 2 has a clear display with numbers only marginally smaller than the larger Veo series. Battery easy to replace. Can be switched to Buhlmann Z model which makes it good for a busy divemaster (not too conservative). Aladin was a little bit more aggressive with its Buhlmann Z model version and I also used to own a Suunto Stinger (sold it) which was more conservative. I have not (and never will) tried the PADI DSAT model setting on the Geo 2. Fyi, the DSAT is the default setting when I bought it. Docked one star because of the unfriendly UI which makes it hard to navigate settings despite having 4 buttons available. Several steps to change your nitrox mix. You get used to it but it's still annoying. Reminds me of a Garmin product :-( Other than that it seems sturdy and comes with a nice stick on urethane screen protector that is easy to apply and doesn't scratch or fog. The screen is mineral glass and is recessed into the bezel so I don't even think the protector is necessary. Recommend based on Performance, build, and practicality. NB: The complete Owners Manual (and, boy will you need it) is only to be found on the incl CD in pdf file.

Highly recommend for Instructors & DMs

from Lexington, VA, US

This is a great dive computer. With it's unique algorithim it gives you more bottom time than any other dive computer which you can decide for yourself if it is advantageous or not. You can switch to a more conservative mode. It is a great size, not too bulky like some others but a bit bigger than say the Suunto D4. As a dive instructor and guide it's perfect for me. I would recommend it.

A good choice !

A great comp. - it has all the features that you need and extra features for advanced things too like deeper diving with deco and more than 1 gas mix

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
CHRISTI G  Good price point for a very user-friendly, easy to read computer.
Anne M  Needed a new dive computer and previously owned the Geo 2.0. Was very excited to see it now available in white. Great computer, easy to use. Love it!
GLENN S  Have loved Oceanic products. Have had great service from them in past for dive computers and felt value was high with this model
NOLAN H  Recommended by a dive master in Puerto galera.
KEVIN A  Lots of features for good price
VALERIANO B  Excellent. Good price, good quality, has everything I needed.
RICHARD A  Confusing operation but, after becoming familiar with functions, works very well. BUT, it will reset the Nitrox mix to "Air" if set more than 2 hours prior to your dive AND this is not mentioned anywhere in the tutorials that I could find.
Shopper  Is this a true mixed gas dive computer? In other words, I use a deco gas that differs from my bottom gas. Will this computer allow the switch to the deco gas during the dive?
Dr M  According to my latest knowledge, the dive computer is designed for regular deco gas and not nitrox.
Bari G  I have only an Oceanic OCL. I only use mine with the single transmitter from my reg-set, so I cannot answer this question. Far simpler just to address your question to customer support at Oceanicworldwide (.com)(either by email or calling them direct)!
KEVIN F  Geo 2 - No. This model is intended for recreational (no decompression), single gas dives. OCI & OCL are full functioning mixed gas computers with decompression algorithm. Yes you can switch gases during a dive. (the switch menu is not available while an alarm is sounding though)
CHRISTINA K  Does the Geo 2 have an underwater timer (or seconds display) for instructors who need to time students doing skills?
KEVIN F  The chronograph feature is only available for use while the computer is in watch mode. It will not function during dive mode.
