Great for traveling on airplanes due to weight. Saved my wife 5 pounds over her existing BIOFINS. Fit nicely in my carry-on luggage or checked bag.

Comments about Aeris by Oceanic Accel Open Heel Fin:

Used these as a divemaster in Bali and a scientific diver in California. Love them.

      I like them because:
      - super light
      - compact
      - rigid (more on this below)

They are pretty rigid fins. I have found that though flutter kicking works just fine, I tend to prefer frog kicking with these. In terms of diving performance, the thing I love about them is that they are very responsive in the water. As opposed to more flexible fins that will propel you quickly when you flutter kick but be terrible when you try to back fin to keep your head in the right spot so that you can look down into a coral or measure an urchin, with a flick of your toes you can move a foot back.

On top of this, they are really light, small, and durable, which makes them ideal travel fins.

Not so much a con, but if you are looking for a fin that will be super powerful going forward, this probably isn't it (I've been fine in a ripping current in Bali though). If your buoyancy is good and you want to have fins that will allow you to make small, precise adjustments in the water, however, this is it.
