About Oceanic Pro-Plus 3

No More Squinting. Dive Computers are supposed to deliver Crucial Data quickly and without Confusion. That's why the Pro Plus 3 combines a Huge Display Area, Largest Most Legible Digits on the market and an Intuitive User Interface. See it for yourself. Take the Oceanic challenge: When shopping for a new dive computer, compare the displays. When it comes to viewing critical information, which would you rather see at 100' (30 meters)?

Air Time Remaining:
The Air Time Remaining feature Calculates Current Depth, Tank Pressure, Breathing Rate, Ascent Time, and Decompression Status to tell exactly how much time you can remain underwater. The Pro Plus 3 Dive Computer Continually Displays Air Time Remaining via a Numerical Bar Graph in addition to Cylinder Pressure. You may also Display Air Time Remaining in Oversized Digits at any time with the Press of a Button.

Dive Time Remaining:
Dive Time Remaining, like Air Time Remaining provides a 'Real' Number in minutes. This Calculation combines Air Time Remaining, Nitrogen and Oxygen Absorption, Displaying whichever allows less time. The Pro Plus-3 features Push-Button or Automatic Activation, Triggered by Water Contact. A benefit of Push-Button Activation is easily verifying Operation and Cylinder Pressure, but in case you forget, or simply choose not to activate your computer, it can be as simple as jumping in the water.

Audible Alarms with Flashing LED Warning Light and Acknowledgment:
The Pro Plus 3 features a Variety of System and User-Customized Audible Alarms, Alerting you to Situations that pose a Potential Danger, or simply serve as a convenient Reminder. Have you ever had difficulty hearing your computer's audible alarm? Perhaps that little beep signifying a potentially dangerous situation was timed perfectly with some large exhaust bubbles rushing past your ears. You won't miss the Pro Plus 3's Audible Alarm. Once Triggered, the Alarm will sound continuously for 10 seconds. Oceanic knows what you're thinking That's nice, I'll definitely hear the alarm, but isn't that going to annoy me and everyone else in the water?" Oceanic thought of that too. The alarm's job is to get your attention so that you look at the computer. Once it does that, simply press the button and it will stop. You're a responsible diver and Oceanic treats you that way. If you really want to exceed your pre-set maximum depth alarm by a couple of feet to capture that award-winning photograph go ahead!

Air or Nitrox:
The Pro Plus 3 acts simply as an Air' computer until you tell it otherwise, whether that is this weekend or 2 years down the road. As your training and experience grow, the Pro Plus 3 is designed to grow with you, being easily programmed for Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 100%.

Oceanic Personal Dive Computer Algorithm:
Decompression theory can be trusted only as far as it has been demonstrated by actual test dive data. In 1987 a unique series of experiments were conducted by Diving Science and Technology (DSAT). Commissioned by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), these Doppler ultrasound monitored human experiments conducted by Dr. Michael Powell produced the most comprehensive data set that exists for recreational divers to this day. These data were used to validate the PADI Recreational Dive Planner and are the basis of the algorithm used in all Oceanic Personal Dive Computers (PDCs). The ultimate adjustable algorithm" that's the way divers, instructors and Oceanic Pro Dealers refer to Oceanic PDCs. Oceanic's Color-Coded Bar Graphs provide Complete Control of your Margin of Safety for each dive. Want to be a bit more cautious? Make it a personal rule to never enter into the yellow caution zone, or stay one pixel away, or you get the point. Now you can even program several of our PDCs to do it for you with Oceanic's patent pending Nitrogen Bar Graph Alarm; set it once and let your computer alert you when your bar graph reaches that level.

Automatic Safety Stop Prompt:
A Brief Audible and Visual Alarm remind you as you approach 15'(4.6 meters), and an Automatic 3-minute Timer Counts-Down to Zero. As in any other dive mode, you still have access to other pieces of information, and there is no penalty should you choose to disregard the safety stop.

Choose Your Dive Mode Display:
The new Pro Plus 3 is as Versatile Underwater as it is Topside. Upon starting your dive, the Pro Plus 3 will simply display your Current Depth, how long you can stay there and Cylinder Pressure. While many divers have asked for such simplicity and ease of use, you know that with all the Pro Plus 3's features, there must be more. And there is. Simply press the button to see more information. Is this information important to you on a full time basis? Leave it there. Just want to check it and then move on to another display? You can do that too. It's up to you and your new Pro Plus 3.

Other features of the new Pro Plus 3 are: Fast Set Menu with Dual Button Operation, 12/24 Hour Format, Date and Time Stamp, User Friendly Mode Icons, Graphic User Interface recognizable logic of green, yellow and red color-coding in conjunction with bar graphs, the diver has at-a-glance information, automatically compensation for altitude up to 14,000' (4,270 meters), Diver-Replaceable CR2 Battery, Battery Hot Swap, 24-Hour Fly Countdown and Calculated De-Saturation Time, Variable Ascent Rate Indicator, Depth-Dependent Ascent Rate, Smart-Glo Backlighting for Low Light Conditions, 24 Dive On-Unit Log Book Ocean-Log PC Interface and PC Upload, Extended Range Gauge Mode and much more!

The Oceanic Pro Plus 3 can Display in Imperial or Metric Measurements, has an Operational Depth of 330' (100 meters), Displays Pressure from 0 to 5,000 psi (0 to 352 bars) and Displays Temperature from 0° to 99°F (-9° to 60°C), comes in a Durable Impact Resistant Case with Attachment Points for Lanyards or Clips, a 7/16" Threaded HP Hose with Quick Disconnect for Easy Detachment of Computer from Regulator, USB Download Cable and Owner's Manual. The SideScan is a dual purpose Liquid Filled Compass. The Side Scan Window allows Quick Reference of Large, Easy-to-Read Bearing Indicators on a Luminescent Display for Gun-Sight Accuracy. Or, for divers who prefer Relative Navigation, the Ratchet Bezel can be rotated easily even with thick neoprene gloves. Great for my tired eyes.

I have about six dives with this computer and love it. I am a recreational diver and it exceeds my needs. I shopped around and did a lot of research before settling on this computer. Lacks an adequate manual

Did not know it was incompatible with Mac, unable to download my dives. The User Manual is a joke. This is not at all what I expected.

First computer / New divers

By

from Selah, WA, US

My wife and I are new divers with 30 + dives using all kinds of rented equipment. The Oceanic computer was recommend to us by our friend and dive instructor for its ease of use. We researched it and bought at Leasure Pro. The computer is ten times what we exspcted for ease of use, we dove this weekend with it to get our advanced certification. We were concerned that new equipment might make the chalange more difficult but the pro plus 3 made every thing easier for us! Leasure Pro sales people were great to work with and answered all my questions like Pros should. Great computer great purchase experance!!

Easy to see.

By

Easy to read. Works well with nitrox. Just a note to let everyone know who is interested that because the numbers and letters are so big, that the computer operates in pages as you dive. So your 1st page will be your basic Dive information. The second page will have other info you are used to seeing crammed in a normal dive computer face. There are only two buttons and they are labeled. Just advance to the next page while diving for all your info. Very easy to use. The manual was ok at best. we actually got better info watching a Youtube video for the operation of the computer. We used the manual to look up the terminology.

I have not yet downloaded my dives to the computer, so I can't comment on that yet. I love the option of choosing between two different algorithms, one being more conservative than the other, and the several alarms and individual settings for those. The compass is set at just the right angle to read without taking my eyes off the computer screen. Great dive computer.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Ken T  I wanted an air integrated computer with large digits for ease of reading. This is a wonderful computer to dive with. Very user friendly, easy to change functions and scroll through the menu, even while wearing thick gloves under water. I love the compass too. All at a great price.
Stephen A  Is the pro plus 3 compatible with a mac?
Melvin R  The pro plus 3 is not compatible with mac
Stuart S  It works great with a Mac!
S. W  The manufacture's web site shows download ability for the software that operates on MAC, PC, Mobile and cloud applications. I recommend you go to Oceanic and check out the software downloads. The software is very generic and looks identical to the other computer makers interface. My Bride uses the oceanic computer and loves it for the easy read screen and the easy use in setup, function and reliability. I use another brand that I have had and trusted for more that 200 dives and never a problem. My next computer, when needed, will more than likely be an Oceanic. Hope this helps you answer your question and I would have no second thoughts about one of the new Oceanic computers. P.s. The Quick Disconnect is very nice when you use a locker at you dive shop. Take the computer with you for download between dives, over an adult beverage and just for safe keeping. I recommend this feature on any console type computer. Happy and safe diving wishes are extended to you
WILLIAM S  It is with the "Diver Log" software from the app store. Unfortunately not free like the Oceanic software for the PC.
Stuart S  There are two versions available, lite and regular. The lite is free and if just downloading works great. If you want to edit the dive data with details the regular version is best. I found a better logger called DiverLogDT. It provides a lot more. I found the interface with the dive computer much more reliable than DiverLog. I use both the Oceanic OCI and ProPlus3.
ANTONY M  Unknown I run micro soft
Frank L  The cable is, yes. Just use the Mac Software: Diverlog. Find more info here: http://ediverlog.com/.
Craig C  What is the difference between Oceanic Pro Plus 2.1 and Oceanic Pro Plus 3?
TERRANCE K  Not familiar with this unit
Joe S  some other differences are as follows. On the PP3 - The nitrox settings all have independent PO2 settings. - The back light is smart glow meaning that it will only come on when ambient light is too low to see the computer. - A smart standby will turn off the screen after 20 minutes to save on battery - All information is retained until the computer goes into sleep mode in two hours. - The set menus are scroll through now. No more holding buttons in to get to different parts of the computer. - Dual Algorithm and Deep Stops - New Safety Stop Settings
Marilyn S  The most notable differences are as follows: The Pro Plus 3 has a larger and easier to read screen. The 3 does Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 100%. The 2.1 does Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 50% . The 3 has a 50 Dive On-Unit Log Book. The 2 has a 24 Dive On-Unit Log Book.
