Must have!!

By Scuba S.

First it's a bit complicated at the start, but once you play around with and get a few dives with it, its starts to become easy. Also if u do get a hoseless air integrated, recommend just to get a backup air gauge something you can tuck away and forget back which is just in case something happens, like hitting the top of a cave and you snap/break the transmitter on your 1st stage. I was also looking at the OC1 and the atom, and besides the cost there is no difference, except the electronic co...

A much improved computer

By Don Q.

Usage: - Fastest way to use this DC is to use the quick reference guide and consult the manual only if you need more details. - Pressing S (Select) for 2sec to start modifying of any parameters does not work. It has to be Light button followed by the Select button. - The Oceanlog 2.x software that comes with the DC has bugs. It will not allow changes to many of the data entries. - The newer Oceanlog software downloaded from Oceanic website also has problem. The Utility Set-up will not sync pr...

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Ryan A  This Dive Computer is so hard to figure out and the instructions might as well been in Chinese. Is there anyone with advice on how to figure this DC? Are there any video's or websites that break the operation of this DC?
MITCHELL N  It does take a little bit of getting use to, my suggestion is to play with it and get use to where the functions are. Or you can youtube it
JONI M  There are a quite a few videos on YouTube. Just search for oceanic atom 3.1. It's really pretty easy to use once you play with it for a bit and the videos are super helpful. I love my oceanic.
Ryan A  Do you have a Apple product? And if you did. Did you have trouble uploading any software? It's looking as if it's not compatible with Apple
JONI M  Yes I use a Mac. You should find a link on the oceanic website but the Mac compatible software is called DiverLog.
WESLEY B  I agree about the instructions. It was close enough to my old DC that I was able to figure it out easily enough. I'd almost have to talk you through doing what you want. One day when I was on a long flight I just worked through the settings until I got good at it. I'm very happy with mine so I'm sure once you get used to it you'll like it. I hope you get it figured out. Wes
Ryan A  Do you have a Apple product? And if you did. Did you have trouble uploading any software? It's looking as if it's not compatible with Apple....
WESLEY B  ,I dive as often as I can but never log them. Diving for 8 years and over 200 dives. I have an all Apple devices but have never hooked my DC to any of them. I'd contact Oceanic to see if they have apple compatible software. If the computer you bought has been on the shelf for a while the disk you got may be older software anyway.
Ryan A  Thank you
Shopper  This Dive Computer is so hard to figure out and the instructions might as well been in Chinese. Is there anyone with advice on how to figure this DC? Are there any video's or websites that break the operation of this DC?
Dante T  The package came with an online course from: divecomputertraining If your purchase did not include the course I believe you can purchase it for around 10 dollars.
STEFAN W  yes. go to YouTube and search for Oceanic Atom and you'll find several videos that explain this computer
Trent R  Is this dive computer/ watch 'too big' for a small female?? Want to buy for my wife but don't want it to be a 'man sized {XL}' piece of gear. Any comments??
LISA P  It is large and bulky but I love and wear it on vacation.
RUSS S  As dive computers go, it's fairly small. She will be fine. I've had it for 2 years and I love it.
CHARLES H  Its definitely not a small, woman's watch, but as far as dive computers go, this is about the most streamlined piece I have seen.
ZACHARY H  definitely not. I bought my wife the Suunto Zoop which is massive compared to the Atom. It will be a great gift. She will love it.
Shopper  Should you leave your spg hose attached to 1st stage for backup. Or do you have to remove it for transmitter to work?
ALBERTO E A  If your first stage has two HP ports you can have use the SPG and the transmitter at the same time. Even though I like using the transmitter, I will only use it if I can have my SPG as backup.
MARK M  There is usually 2 high pressure ports on your first stage. Use one for your transmitter and one for your spg. It is always good to have a backup.
ZACHARY H  You can keep your SPG Hose in if you have enough HP ports on your 1st stage. But it would just be redundant. As long as you check your batteries to ensure they have enough juice, you shouldn't have a problem. The only down side is, if your compass is on your SPG, you will either need to keep it attached for that or buy a separate one to use, since the Atom doesn't have a built in compass. Hope that helps.
WILLIAM A  Transmitter screws directly into first stage and doesn't care if there are other hoses attached (assuming you have enough ports). I have had no issue with transmitter so have seen no need for a backup gauge.
richard e  Where can I find owners manual or CD for A 3.1 doc no.12-6335r01?
WARREN Q  You can get everything online at the Oceanic website. Just down load what you need, enjoy.
WILLIAM A  I downloaded one from Oceanic website.
ERIC W  Have you tried Oceanic's we site? If you don't have it find it on google
richard e  I tried the web and Google. it showed all except the 3.1 Doc No. 12-6335r01
MARK M  I found the owners manual on-line at Oceanic's website.
