About Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System)

Withstands high pressure - making it perfect for the office. The ATOM 2.0 is equally at home when worn with wetsuit or a three-piece suit. Don't be deceived by its small size -- this small format PDC powerhouse delivers all the bells and whistles you can imagine at the touch of a button.

Switch Between 3 Independent Wireless Transmitters The ATOM 2.0 Wristwatch PDC is a sophisticated Personal Dive Computer featuring Oceanic's wireless air integration technology. A transmitter threaded into the first stage high-pressure port continuously sends cylinder pressure data to the wristwatch. Frequencies are individually coded to allow multiple divers to swim side by side without interference with other units, as well as allow advanced divers to monitor up to 3 independent cylinders. Because the transmitter and display module are independent and separately powered units, the receiver may also be easily used as a stand alone, non-air integrated dive computer.

Buddy Pressure Check Transmitters may be programmed for "SELF" or "BUD" for Buddy - when programmed for "BUD" - the ATOM 2.0 will search for and display pressure for transmitters that are within range (4-6 feet).

Advanced Free Dive Mode The ATOM 2.0 provides accurate depth and time with an amazing 1-second sampling rate for subsequent PC download and analysis. Dive Time is displayed in seconds and minutes. Custom audible alarms include Elapsed Dive Time, Countdown Ti mer and (3) Independent Max Depth Alarms. The ATOM 2.0 is the first Free Diving Computer to calculate and track Nitrogen Tissue Loading, allowing you to switch between SCUBA dives and Free Dives on the same dive day.

Advanced Wristwatch Functions The ATOM 2.0 is an advanced digital wristwatch featuring a 1/100 second chronograph (stopwatch) with lap timer, 24 hour countdown timer, daily alarm, alternate time zone with date, 12/24 hour clock, and OceanGloÈ Backlight.

Patented Air Time Remaining Algorithm You're at 80 feet with 1300 psi remaining in your cylinder - how long before you need to begin an ascent to a shallower depth? Our patented Air Time Remaining feature calculates your current depth, breathing rate, cylinder pressure, ascent time, and decompression status to tell you exactly how much time you can remain underwater. The Atom 2.0 Complete with transmitter is hard to beat, especially at this new price. It is relatively easy to use and operate. If you are diving single tank air then you cannot do much better than this. It handles nitrox, multiple dives and multiple transmitters for tracking a buddies air supply and/or another rig. I use it mostly for single tank dives over 100 feet.
The complete system comes with a transmitter, computer software (pc) and scratch guard, lens cover and additional strap.
The transmitter is already linked to the watch out of the box and the default settings are perfect for air dives with wet activation set "on." Therefore, you can hook it up and jump right in and it will work. However, going through the settings and functions is highly recommended.
Watch is easy to use and works as advertised. The manual is methodical and walks you through the steps of setting the watch to your specifications.
Backlight is powerful and I really like the check battery function.
It took me about an hour to set up the time, alternate time zone, and various safety features, like turn around warning, air time remaining, safety stop depth and time, etc. I read so many complaints here that I almost didn't buy it. Lots of complaints about the manual being hard to understand. I think it is a matter of being methodical and sticking with it. It has 4 buttons and one is dedicated to a light, so you only have to master 3 buttons. After the transmitter is set-up and your tank is turned on...all you have to do is hold the top left button for a few seconds and you will have your basic dive watch with air pressure reading, then hold the top right button for a couple of seconds and it will tell you if both your watch battery and transmitter battery is good...then jump in!!! Very simple stuff. I gave this 4 stars because the computer software is a bit glitchy at times but it is fun to download dives and see it all graphed with air/time/depth stats, etc.
I think you will be very pleased with this computer and it is truly great to eliminate the high pressure hose and console. It makes diving even more fun.

This is theoretically a nice product, and it would be 5 stars if it was reliable. However, it constantly shut off and turned back on (which it's not supposed to do). I tried replacing the battery, and that didn't help. Only used it on 2 trips this summer, and after the second trip it shut off for good. When I push the buttons it just says "Err," which the manual says means it must be sent back to the factory. I'm sending it back for servicing now. Reliability is extremely important in a hoseless dive computer because if it goes dead on a dive you have nothing and have to abort. Thankfully it didn't die on an actual dive, but that may have just been luck.

Comments about Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System):

I have now owned the Atom 2.0 for one year and have made approximately 20 dives in varying conditions. Computer works well. There is a learning curve to learn all the functions and how to access them.

I installed the software using the disk that came in the box - nothing worked. I went to the website and downloaded all the updated software which worked fine. Computer data interface is not fancy and sometimes takes several tries to get a valid connection, but it has always worked. Data output is excellent. Dive logbook works well.

There is something to be said, however, for having a an air-integrated dive computer which is actually ATTACHED to your rig. I love the portability of wireless, but occasionally it loses the connection (not often, and mainly in particle-filled murky water) and I have had a couple of close calls for losing it as I am putting all my dive gear on. Consider carefully before choosing wireless.

Comments about Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System):

I've had this computer for almost 2 years now. The first one I had died about 11 months / 35 dives after purchasing, computer died during a dive. Oceanic replaced that computer with a new one. The replacement also died about 11 months / 70 dives later, luckily died after I got out of the water. So in the past two years, I've had two Atom 2.0's die. My trust for this computer is gone. Oceanic was quick to replace the first one, but I'm having trouble getting them to replace this second one. The computer is awesome when its working, lots of functions, and easy to read. However, its long term reliability is questionable.

Comments about Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System):

I have had this computer from nov 2010 it works well, as for the software Oceanic has just got most of the bugs out so get the update. It works as good as I would expect and I have not had anything go wrong with it yet. I had to change the Batt in Jan 2012 but it has been to 84' and 4 dives after I removed and replaced the batterey with no errors. o and I see a lot of post telling you that with this computer you can "eliminate the high pressure hose and console" that Just sounds like a good way to get DCS if your unit dose stop working.

Comments about Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System):

I bought my computer in good cond but used for a BARGAIN price of only 2600zar with a transmitter, but if I had to pay the retail value I would say it is to much.

I took me a full day to fully understand it, but once you understand the buttons and symbols it is easy to use.

I had to replace the battery even if the last owner just replaced it himself.

The battery cover "LOOKS" very flimsy and unreliable, but so far it works fine. I can just imagine that it will start leaking when fine dust gets into the battery cover seal.

When you replace the battery make VERY VERY VERY sure the cover surface + oring + computer surface is super clean. Remove the o ring with a tooth pick and clean it as well.

I use a hoody and I was unable to hear the alarm under water.

I will only recomend it if the price is good.

lousy interface but very functional

Comments about Oceanic Atom 2.0 Air Integrated Hoseless Dive Computer Watch (Complete System):

Watch is small and can be your only watch on a dive vacation. Programing is truly a DOS experience. The interface to load data into your computer is even worse. There is nothing intuitive about which buttons to push and which menue stuff is in. The manual that comes with it is poor and difficult to understand. However once programed it works very well. In general you only need to go in the menues when you buy it and when you need to change to nitrox. If you don't do it often it is difficult to remember the sequence of buttons to get there. If you use it all the time it is simple. It is a little hard to read in dim light or at night even with the back light for my 50+ year old eyes.

Joe S  The Atom 3.1 is very reliable and has a lot of differences. - easier scroll through menu - Dual Algorithm - Smart Glo - Deep Stops You could be seeing a different price because we were just running a free transmitter program which has ended as of August 1 Just to name some of them.
