I have been diving in the shorts version of these XSPAN pants for a couple of years and have really enjoyed them. There are a couple of features that make them super comfortable for warm water diving. First, they are not as binding and confining as a 3mm traditional wet suit which I love because wet suits (especially full wet suits) make me feel claustrophobic. These provide nice protection against stings and scrapes when paired with a long-sleeved dive top of similar weight (I wear a Lava...skin). The pants are very high-waisted, which means that if you are going with the two-piece dive suit like I do, if/when your top moves around upon entry or while diving, you still have full coverage. The picture actually shows how far these pants go up in the back, as you can see. I am a short woman of 5'3 and ended up having the pant altered in length, but they are true to length for a unisex pant. It was well worth it to have them shortened to a point where they overlap the top of my booties but don't bunch up or have to be tucked in or rolled up.
A word of warning on thermal protection. I recently dove in these pants+Lavaskin in 78 degree waters in Belize and found myself getting cold a few times. If you are at all cold natured, these will likely not provide enough thermal protection even in warmer water. I am not sensitive to cold and have dived in XSPAN shorts plus a rash guard many times in 82 degree water and was comfortable. Those 4 degrees make a big difference.
These pants are durable, comfortable and functional. I would highly recommend for WARM water diving if you are a person who shuns the traditional wet suit and desires modest thermal protection with adequate surface coverage against possible stings or scrapes.
Whatever your water activates take you layering is the key to warmth. Neo-Sport recognizes this need and fulfills the requirement with its XSPAN line of products. The exclusive XSPAN material is ultra-soft and comfortable to wear, that's why Neo-Sports uses 100% 1.5mm XSPAN with 250% 4-way super-stretch foam neoprene rubber in the construction of this great pair of pants. When worn under an exposure suit it will increase heat retention by slowing down water exchange and adding an additional thermal barrier layer.
The EXSPAN 1.5mm Pants can also be used as a standalone water sports garment when minimal thermal protection is required or protection from sun and critters are an issue. Either way the XSPAN Pants will do the job and more. When worn under an exposure suit the flat lock stitched seams create a smooth interior and exterior for added comfort and durability. To properly secure the XSPAN 1.5mm Pants they come equipped with an off centered barrel lock cinch shock cord waist band. The flat lock stitched seams mean when worn under an exposure suit you won't look like the B&O Railroad runs up and down your legs at the end of your water activities. The Neo-Sports Pants are available in multiple sizes and colors.

So my husband is 5' 11" and 170 lbs. his pant size waist size is 33. He is running a 24 hour race in these, and wants to have a rash guard under them. What size should I order?
ROBERT S
They fit true to size.

waist and inseam equivelents?
VINCENT C
unisex. These are great, as there is an articulated rear (like bike shorts) and a drawstring around the waist which accounts for the lack of flexibility over lycra. It is a true unisex pattern and all clothing manufacturers should take notes! The inseam runs a tad short because any quality water shoes have a bib that can overlap. I am 38 28 pants and they never fit right without modifications; however these did! That is the value of ergonomics and not simple tube numbers; I have legs not pipes below my waist...

I purchased a pair of the pants in march XXL I am 6ft and 230lbs 38inch waist and the fit great

Purchased per the size chart, 2XL. I have a 38" waist and 31-32" inseam. The length is a little long but it is easy to gather the extra length along along my legs. Waist fits fine and with room to expand as you bend or sit, very stretchy material. I have used these paddle pants for scuba diving and plan to use for paddling kayak and sup board when the weather gets chilly.

IS THIS A QUESTION' WHERES YOUR QUESTION MARK?
SHANNON G
They run true to size so if you wear an XL buy an XL. They worked great when we went diving the Great Barrier Reef in early October. Water temps were an average of 70 degrees and I was never too hot or too cold. Only complaint is how far up the waist the pants go in the back.

I don't understand what it is you are asking about.

Why Did You Choose This?
NORANN M
New to paddle boarding. Just wanted something simple to help keep me warm till the weather heats up. Thought about purchasing a full suit, but I'm a large woman and skittish about putting out a lot of money up front for something that may not fit. This pant has good reviews. I hope they fit and work well for me.

This is my second pair of Neosports xspan pants. I am a water baby and I swim everyday but as I have gotten older I find the cold water temperature really bothers my legs. But not with the Neosport pants. They are comfortable, keep my legs warm so I can swim longer. I was really pleased to find them on Leisurepro for 30.00 less then Amazon. Thanks guys I will be ordering again

I have the shorts in XSPAN 1.5mm fabric and have loved them. I am wanting some more coverage due to close calls with stinging things and hope the pants are as well-fitting as the shorts.
